What do you think of IE7?

I don't recall a thread about it. For those that have it, what do you think of IE7? I finally broke down and downloaded it earlier. I must say I actually kind of like it. It is lightyears ahead of IE6. I don't think I would leave Firefox, though. I didn't know they were going the add-on route like Mozilla has with Firefox. Saw some of the same extensions for IE7 that are available for FF. I like the new look.

Edit:

Maybe I should take all that back. :damn::damn:

Figures it would start giving me problems after I typed that. The favorites I had in IE has just disappeared. Granted, they were only the couple that come with it but they are still gone. Additionally, when I type a URL into the navigation field and press enter nothing happens. If I want to browse anywhere I have to go to a search engine, type in a search, and click the links that comes up. It was working fine before. This just popped up. :damn::damn::down::down:

No problems so far... has worked fine for me.
The "tabs" on top of the screen feature seems a bit overated though... I prefer to simply open up a different web page on each of my monitors and then I can just watch them all at the same time without the need for this new "feature" :hmm:

I like the new font in IE7 but the rest of it takes a bit of getting used to.

Happened to have just finally downloaded it also about 5 days ago now...IE is only browser I use...so far no problems...able to view the pages tabbed or untabbed..etc...no problems so far.Looks like same thing in a new skin...so long as it brings up pages is all that matters.

My problem is it won't work as advertised. I checked out the newsgroup for IE at Microsoft's website and it appears I'm not the only one that this is happening too. No one has got a clear resolution, though, so that's not good. I've tried just about everything I could think of and the dumb thing still acts up.:damn::damn::damn:

This sounds like a virus or browser hi-jack...

I assume you have Win XP...do a roll back...if possible to when you had IE 6 still.

tried ie7, went back to firefox 2.0.

its the same old bland ie with tabs.

at the moment i alter between ff2 and opera, with the bulk of browsing on ff.

bleah IE suckz!!mozilla rulz :>

JSLTIGER 10-29-06 04:39 PM

I happen to like the ability to customize FF2.0, but I've upgraded both of my computers to IE7. Nothing wrong with it, it's just a little bland and takes some getting used to as the interface is pretty different from IE6 and FF.

Syxx_Killer 10-29-06 04:40 PM

When you guys upgraded to IE7, did you uninstall IE6 or anything like that? I just downloaded the IE7 installer and ran it.

JSLTIGER 10-29-06 04:45 PM

No, you didn't have to uninstall IE6...

I was running IE7rc and liked it-it was just a shame that my isp didn't!!

IE 7 total rubbish

What a load of rubbish, give me Opera 9.2 anyday or even firefox. And whats with the validation before install? The beta never required this. Must be the only browser ive come across that asks to check your windows, then it goes on about install anti malware tools or whateva its called to your PC you have no option to disallow this - its most likely microsoft spyware. Well had to put it on as Opera dont like My sons Bebo site, so its on but i wont be using it. My Kaspersky internet security came up with message: "Intrusion detected in IE 7.exe"

Microsofts got a long way to go before i dump opera for theirs.
