You might have PSU power problem or overheating problem.
Check that you have at least 500-600 Wat PSU and all cables are connected correctly.
Check that the fan on your card is spinning.

well i got back istalled the 470 plus the software for the cpu's and the fan, set fan to 80and now it's running fine so far-. I also changed around some of the modular harnesses on the power supply. It didnt really explain the settings for the cpu i should use so i winged it.but i would like to know. well its been 10min and still going. thanks for the reponse

stoppro 07-03-10 06:32 PM

oop! spoke to soon crashed again.but this time got a message telling me it failed.I guess it's going back.

stoppro 07-03-10 08:55 PM

I tried it again with the drivers that came with it.It has been running for a half hour and so far no problems.I set the fan with the Precision soft ware, but am confused about the cpu settings involving shader and the cpu I have them at min.should I bump them up?

HI stoppro:)

First off I build my own Hi-End gameing rigs and am running a pair of these.

Happily you have EVGA. No questions asked, Hassle free support.

Your PSU is fine and I think your smart enough to hook it up right.

Start with a base line. > Install ONLY drivers for Card first. Do the CPU frills later.

See at basic settings if it runs stable, on the same game before, you do further tests turning on other features.

If it runs stable for at least 2hrs Gameing......

THEN start adding features, One at a time.

If it doesn't run with just drivers, EVGA has a simple RMA process.

I'll watch your thread to see how it goes and help you along.

Good Luck

edit : And quit screwing with the fan software settings.

Let it run at Max for now. Once it's stable you can test that.

thanks firewall been running sh5 for 4hrs -fan on 84-Ihad 30 fps for about 15mins then it went to 60 and stayed there.{i have v-sync on] the precision software cpu are at min. hell,I might leave everything where it is. the game looks great no frame drops inside the u-boat.If nothing goes flakey it should be ok. the new drivers caused all the trouble. i went back to the one on the disc and it is fine.funny you should say that about the fan It won't run worth a damn without the prcision software it comes with. think the card's sour?

FIREWALL 07-04-10 01:43 AM
