Strictly Historical Roster
Had enough seeing wrong ship showing up at wrong time and carrying wrong flag.So after months of researching,tens of thousands of ship data scaned, I am glad to release my first version of Strictly Historical Roster.

Do NOT copy and paste this into you Slient Hunter III/data/Roster/ folder. It wont work and most likely to cause porblems. It is ONLY intended for MOD makers as a source of reference to deicide with ship goes into which country and when to appear/disappear. All data must be manualy adjusted and incorporate into you file. File Format Example: AKLiberty.cfg File Name = Class Name + .cfg [UnitClass] \t Class Tag Leave as it is ClassName=AKLiberty Hull identification Code + Class NameUnitType=102 Unit type number AppearanceDate=19411230 The earliest appear date among all unit DisplayName=Liberty Ship A common name to display in the SH3MissionEditorDisappearanceDate=20201231 The latest disappear date ammong all unit. However if the last unit is sunk due to war action that date is set to 19451231 [Unit 1] Unit number from 1 to N arranged in accending order by their pennent number or Hull number if not available the alphabetic order of unit name is used. Name=EMC-1 J L M Curry Pennant Number + Unit Name whichever available DOC=19420515 Unit appear date: For large warships CA above the lanuch date is used. For smaller warships commission date is used.For merchant it is the complete date or delivery date. For converted ship this is the date that conversion finishes. DOD=19430308 Unit disappear date: This is the date when unit is sunk,decleared CTL,change to another country,converted to ships with totally different profiles or scrapping working begins [Unit 2] Additional Unit Added here and on Name=EMC-2 John Marshall DOC=19420531 DOD=19710101 The old SH3 naming system is completely abandoned as is not clear description of what they actually means. The new naming system use USN Ship Designation Code + Leader Unit Name or Ship Type Abbriviation as class name and file name,with no prefix,space or under line.The only symbol allowed is &. At the moment 154 ship models has passed Identification check and found real WWII ship that they can match to. Your list is impressive and indeed is a good base for any modder who would like to create historical campaigns or missions. I think this list could be a bit clearer and easier to use if it was separated between military and merchant units. :Kaleun_Salute: |
I will consider put a prefix for combat unit if such need is largely demanded.
At the moment: class name begin with AMC ATF BB BC CA CL CV CVE DD DDC DE FF HSK LCVP LST MS PC PT TB are combat unit other are not. |
I hope this will help any modder's or mission builders with Historical accuracy as regard's Destroyer and other Escorts' names!
