TLAM strike mission

Hi people, I got a question.

I recived the TLAM strike mission and the order said I needed to close within 100miles to murmansk and launch 8 TLAM.

I did that. I got close within 100 kyd and launched my missiles.
Is that right or did I make a misscalculation and need to be close, because the mission was a failure and I tried twice.

Did you set your target at a light blue circle? To be clear, this circle on the map is the target, not the point where you should shoot from. TLAMS from that point will continue their flight towards the target of the mission.

When the mission says "at least 8 TLAMS", you should fire more, at least 4 more IMHO. They're not 100% accurate plus they can get shot down.

Ah, so that is the issue. I aimed at the blue circle, and was my range correct? with 100 kyrd?

I believe that when the TLAM mission starts you are already within the range. You can fire ASAP and start worrying about escaping the scene :)

Yes, 100nm is ~172kyd if memory serves.

1 nmi is approximately 2000 yd. So 100 nmi is approximately 200 kyd.

(The nmi is important because nm means nanometers)

According to google, the actual conversion is: 1 nmi = 2025.37 yd. So, it's a very handy rule of thumb that 1 nmi = 2000 yd.
