Thanks, Reece and noted. This is a problem mainly where I post squirrel targets close together; I usually spread them around the clock, which should make things fairer (and use up less Subsim) but I think I got carried away with the sheer excitement. I'll spread them out more next time and see how it goes, then consider your suggestion again.

@ beaniebuddy... shinning up and down ladders is second nature to squirrels and those of us familiar with military shooter games: you use the mouse to 'look up' as you approach the ladder and you should then find yourself locked onto it and going up as you continue to press the 'forward' key. Coming down you must again 'look' at the hatchway with the mouse as you approach, which activates the 'climb down ladder' thing.

Squirrels climb trees and gutters and bird feeders, NOT ladders, young feller! I can get on the ladders and climb just fine... it's getting OFF!!! - perhaps I get too distracted by all the shiny objects about the place...

Thanks Propbeanie. It was fun, especially the comments and funny squirrel pictures.

I'm at last playing it offline, thanks to the Berbstermeister. Still learning the basics, but it's amazing being able to walk around inside the sub and climb up into the conning tower. I don't have any mods as I'm rubbish at that kind of thing but no issues so far.

If you need help with the mods Eichhörnchen , ask, although TheBerbster is the SH5 "Guru " here.

Well I've been playing for 8 months or so with TWoS mod, and had only one game crash, that was totally my fault. I find it to be rock steady, and no bad saves, something I could not say about SH3 no matter how careful I was with it. TWoS really doesn't need mods added to it, it is great just as it is.

I was going to purchase SH5 a while back when there was a backlash here and elsewhere regarding the DRM fiasco. Even though it has been somewhat resolved, I never went back to purchase it. I need to get it. I'm glad you are enjoying it.

Here in the LA area, I've seen squirrels crossing streets by running across power and phone lines suspended over the street; have often wondered if any of them have ever gotten a jolt...

Oh my gosh, eisenwurst... you're supposed to Whack! the squirrel, so that he survives the incident, recovers, and Eichhörnchen can re-use him again later! That poor fellow's crown is now covering his jewels, and might never see the light of day again!... :har:

I do believe though, that Eichhörnchen has been peeking in my living room window and taking pictures of my cat... "Fat" does not describe her though... - and he better not be peeking through other windows from his tree, either...

(propbeanie gets the points for that one then)
