There is no single position of greater value and requiring more skill that the Boat's Dive Officer. You are directly responsible for the Boat's depth, trim, and diving maneuvers. Your duties include maintaining safe periscope depth, managing deep submergence buoyancy, shepherding the boat's compressed air supply, managing trim, and running the bilge pump and Junkers air compressor. You will need discipline as well as skill.
