system requirements

I saw the system min requirements on the SB website. The processor lists the P4 and says or its equivalent. I have an Intel Core i3 M330@2.13 ghz and wonder if that would run it? I dont understand most of what all of the numbers mean so I wouldnt even begin to know how to compare them. My graphics card is a Radeon HD 4330 as well. Any idea if that is sufficient? Any help would be appreciated.

Chances are good - I assume - that you will be able to run it. Check

- this for frame rate test results

- this for gfx boards

Note that both threads cover postings from several years, starting in 2009, and 2005. Maybe jump forward a bit.

I ran the sim until one year ago on a P4, 3 GHz. ;) I think that single CPU old thing is slower than your machine.

The designation core i3 M330 indicates a dual-core laptop running with 2.13 GHz. That is marked as a machine in the introductory segment. But I assume that it is at last as fast as a several years older single processor P-4 at 3 GHz, since background tasks to some degree will not bother the CPU calculating the sim, but will be shifted to the second core, and better processor architecture will compensate for the lower frequency. The gfx board is also at the lower end of the spectrum, but I read it can run Unreal Tournament and comoarable games at lower 1024 and 1280 resolutions and low-medium graphics settings. SBP does not demand much in the gfx department. So I assume that you will be running the sim nicely at medium-high resolutions with playable frames.

If you want to be completely certain, ask them directly: http://www.steelbeasts.com/sbforums/forumdisplay.php?f=3

You also can ask there for a guest license, to try it out. That would require an online connection. You download and install the sim (for free), but the licensing will be not via dongle at your end of the line, but somebody else's machine, online, for the duration of your match.

Skybird thank you for finding that! I will check it out. Thanks again!

Also check the stickied SBP resources thread somewhere at the top of the thread list. ;)

And note that I edited the above posting and added some info.
