We're still here! :D I think Hunter & the bunch have been flying pretty much every evening. And I've been flying on WWIIOL almost all week. I think you might be seeing a new stunt vid coming, WWIIOL has nice big cities with tall buildings and wide streets to fly through. :p

Kratos 07-05-08 01:43 PM

Ah forget it ....:hmm: he said cities i misread :rotfl:

WWIIOL is that fun? Or is it full of flyboys who like to shoot everything and no team work?

The monthly fee and the sheer hugeness of the war cuts down alot of teen/fraghunter players. The sorties feel great to fly as you know there's no AI in the world, every single soldier/tank/aircraft/AAgun/ATgun/ship/etc. you see on your sortie is another human player. It really adds to the immersion to know that the fight below you in a strategically important city is fought human player vs. human player and it is up to you and your squadron to keep the airspace clear of enemy fighters and bombers. The flightmodel is very much different of IL2, but it isnt a bad thing, it isnt very forgiving either.

You can play it for 14 days free, I'd suggest to try it at first.

I'll step in and answer that. WWIIOL is brilliant. Teamwork is a must or you won't get very far. The best part is that the game has Land, air and sea.

Here are a couple of screenies:

Me providing air cover for some Kriegsmarine convoy. They set up offshore and shelled a town while the German Army attacked it.

Me taking part in a huge Stuka raid. The German attack ont e town was faltering, then our Stuka raid came and took out many allied tanks.

Gotta love the Stuka...

and last but not least, here is a youtube video that shows a bit of the airwar.

Some things to note:
-the graphics of the terrain have been updated a bit
-this shows part of the strategic airwar (flying deep behind enemy lines and bombing factories
-notice the teamspeak comms the guys use...lots of teamwork. The Axis will have interceptors working together as well.
