Bring back the VMC?

Does anyone have any interest in bringing back an organized fleet? Back in its hayday I was a RADM With the VMC (Virtual Military Command).

We did more then your standard meet up and play multiplayer events. Mostly we were focused on Campaign operations.
Each week a commander would report in to their fleet commander, and be assigned an operation for there boat. The outcomes of these operations would be tracked by the Command staff and an overall "War" Scenario would be updated based on the outcomes of various missions.

For those players interested in PvP scenarios, a time could be set aside where the multiplayer op would take place.
The goal of the VMC was to provide a multiplayer campaign available for all players who were interested be it online or offline play.

If enough players are interested in this type of play, I have a web server, and could design / host a website for the VMC, and get started with some mission design etc...
Obviously we would need enough people involved to make this viable, but if we can get enough players together it truly is a very fun and immersive way to play.

If you are interested in getting involved with an organized fleet, please let me know your thoughts and what level of involvement you would be interested in. (Mission designer, fleet commander, boat commander, etc...)

Welcome aboard!

Only need a few more to at least get started, I'll start mocking up a website and forums for us to use for planning in the next day or so. In the mean time,
please message me some details about what positions all of you would like to take.

We will be in need of officers, so if that is something you are interested in let me know if basic mission design is something you are familiar with, or if it is not whether or not you would be willing to learn a bit of it.

If you're not interested in being an officer, then please message me with the platform you would like to be assigned to. Platform choice can be changed upon completion of your cruise (or earlier if you find you aren't interested in your current platform, fun is our #1 goal here after all!)

We will be running RA so keep that in mind when choosing a platform!

I would ilke to play with my friends in one side, but I don't know which side (east/west) is available. Maybe all players should define favorite units for each side because i think most peoples will take west types of platforms.
In my opinion campaign should be west vs east engagement because each side had different doctrines when most submarines was designed during cold war.

My favorite platforms (in proper order)

WEST:

- FFG OHP
- FFG Bergamini

- Harushio
- Type 212 (DE/IT)
- Colins

- 688 Flt III/II/I
- Sturgeon Long

EAST:

- Udaloy

- Kilo imp

- Victor II/III
- Akula I imp / II

That sounds like a good plan, right now you're the first to have listed which platforms you are interested in and that will help me out greatly tomorrow when i start laying out the website.

Glad to have you aboard and stay tuned for further information!

Last time I play mainly surface units. I hope Bergamini will be added very soon with newest version of RA.

PL_Cmd_Jacek 10-10-16 08:49 AM

From my side: I can play all submarines. Can lead surface units too (both Udaloy, and OH Perry), but my experience is not so big

The most preferable:

East:
Alfa Class
Lada Class
Akula Class

West
Trafalgar
Los Angeles
Sturgeon

Thanks for the update on preferred units, If you have friends who are going to play please have them list their preferred units as well. Still on the lookout for fleet commanders, gonna be needing some help with the story line and mission design.
