Red Orchestra Darkest Hour Mod

I do not know how I overlooked the Tanksims forum here.. but glad I found it..

I was suprised not to find Red Orchestra or better yet Red Orchestra with the DarkestHour mod.. excellent when played as tank maps only..
Red Orchestra puts the Russians against the Germans..Darkesthour mod adds the Allies..and does it first class!
Tigers and stugs, panzers against firefly's, m10's, stuarts, cromwells and shermans.. not to mention the bazooks and artillery!
it's a hoot! I like playing the ToW servers myself..

They could probably use some of your input to, on making it even better..

Check it out at http://darkesthourgame.com

You pay a total of 15 bucks on Steam.. Install Red Orchestra and the mod Darkesthour from steam.. and your set to fight against as many as 50 people online! (most servers are 40) Really been enjoying this one guys.. a must for any tank lover..

I wouldnt exactly call RO a tanksim or a must have for a tanksimmer. IIRC, panzerfaust can knock out T34s frontally and from pretty darn far etc. etc. It's pretty simple as far as the armor goes. :yep:

RO is a good game, but not exactly a tank sim, as Dowly pointed out

Also I enjoyed the stock game far more than the Darkest Hour mod, for some reason

True RO it's no tank sim, but until we have a moddable worthy modern ww2 tank sim, I like to think that RO and Darkesthour mod is as close as we can get and what we have at disposal to try to recreate ww2 tank combat...It is really worth the try...In fact tank combat Darkesthour mod It's FAR BETTER than normal RO.

Agreed..This DH mod really enhances the game..
not a total SIM.. was pointing out, what actually feels good as an Online game.. in tanks.
(that said... RO and DH have the Dumbest BOTS I ever seen! this is for ONLINE play only)
Also, was mentioning to those that like sims.. it might be one to poke around in and add suggestions to the Darkest Hour team.. they seem to be gaining alot of headway as far as tanks are concerned. And listening to the community.

The bazooks etc I think they give them 100yds.. true.. to far..
but the regular tank maps (actually just 2 in initial DH release)..don't give them much more than little towns to hide in.. you usually see their jeep or VW comming for ya..
If you got a trusty Machine gunner in your tank.. they wont get closer.

Teaming in these tanks just feels right.. I know the sounds work.. Not overly loud nor quiet..with proper tread squeaks..:) I know.. I was in them..lol.. ok 60-70s models.. 60a1
but this game got the feeling without overly done controls. Yet, you spin a tread you slow and know it.. uphill can hear the shifter.. your screaming along at 20-40 (depending on tank and grade)

hatch openings.. and now with darkest hour.. no hatch on the proper tanks. Plus the cute pinups in the tanks.. that's tanking..

And the online servers actually work...:yeah:

the online tanks battles on the big maps "Vieux" and "Wacht am Rhein" are great if you have join an organized team and both sides are in a position to win if they execute coordinated attacks and defend caputured positions also.

RO and DH are great games. There is nothing better.
DH is more for infantry, you can hide and the sphere in the most
maps is bizar. The mod has been made very good.

RO is nice for tankbattles and i like it very much.

If you don`t like it then you have been once an opponent of me...hihi
