Target density

I've been interested in trying SH4 recently but i've been wondering about how the difficulty will scale and amount of targets. I've read by 1944 that the US submarines were so successful that they struggled to find any targets. Is this modeled in the game?

in the major mods such as Trigger Maru (TMO) and Fall of the Rising Sun Ulitmate, and Run Silent, Run Deep, traffic tapers off and kinda-sorta follows the historical references.

keep in mind that this is a game and you will probably encounter more traffic than real life because if you didn't, it would be boring-as-he!!.

in Stock and GFO, traffic may slacken but, IMO, is way-more than historically accurate.

IIWY, i would play and have fun. if you wanted to get bored, you could always watch paint dry.

Ah, I just wondered how historically accurate 4 was. Would it be best to start stock first?

TBH, I'd go with TMO or FotrS instead of stock. The mods add so much more (both visually and gameplay) that I'd not go stock anymore.

For better or worse, it's a very old game, and it's the mods that bring it (as much as it can, w/o code) up to date.
