README ........

Summer Tropical Crew Uniforms

I made up this mod for my own private use and mentioned to Templar and he prompted me to make this mod available to the SH3 community.

All of the uniforms included here are from various modders like FUBAR, Raptor, Gian, Dertien, Evans, and Payoff to name some ( if I missed someone's uniform being used as I did not keep track of where they came from, my humble apology, I take no credit for them ).

I took the best light colored uniforms from them and combined them into this summer/tropical uniform collection. I did not create any new uniforms, just using what is out there and changed the color of the cap.

Dertien provided instructions on how to select the uniform you want placed on a particular uniform on a crew member in his mod "Men at Work":

-If you want to change the uniform an officer is wearing do the following:

-Load your game and write down the name of the officer you want to dress up.

-open up the crew_config_VII.cfg file and look up the name you wrote down in step one, if the name is not there, you're looking in the wrong config file.

- when you find the name:

for example

FUBAR also provided some instruction also so that you can keep the same crew and uniforms in one file is so desired, as this is what I follow:

To get the best out of these skins you will need to edit your crew config files.

1) You will need to make a note of the names of you four main 4 officers so you will need to start your game and wright the names on paper

2) copy one of the crew config files to your desktop it dosn't matter which one, you will find them here silenthunterIII/data/Cfg folder

3) open this config file with notepad, scroll down and edit the line on each crew member where it says BodyTgaIdx=0 and change the 0 to a number between 0 and 7 changeing this number uses one of the eight skins I've supplied for the crew in this pack (dont edit the main officers theres no need, you should have there names on paper so you can see which not to edit).

4) If you whish to take off a crew members hat scroll down to the line that says HasHelmet=yes and change the yes to no, If you want him to have a hat leave the line so it reads HasHelmet=Yes.

5) once you have finished editing this crewconfig file make 11 copies and name them as list below (NAMES MUST BE CORRECT OR YOU WILL HAVE PROBLEMS)

crew_config_II_1
crew_config_II_2
crew_config_II_3
crew_config_VII_1
crew_config_VII_2
crew_config_VII_3
crew_config_IX_1
crew_config_IX_2
crew_config_IX_3
crew_config_XXI_1
crew_config_XXI_2
crew_config_XXI_3

6) Now put all 12 of your new crewconfig files here silenthunterIII/data/Cfg folder (BUT REMEMBER TO BACKUP YOU ORIGINAL CREWCONFIG FILES JUST IN CASE OF PROBLEMS)

ADDITIONAL HELP

heres part of one of my crewconfig files showing you which lines to change (just to make steps 3 and 4 clear)

FUBAR's instructions have you set up the Crew config files so you can use the same crew repeatedly if you care to.

The Bordmütze or Overseas cap was modded from a cap found with CCoM ( Commanders Choice of Mods ) supermod. The Kriegsmarine summer cap was white but I did find a original tan color cap which was the basis for my cap, though I not sure it is original KM or not. But it gives the correct feeling.

The cap also includes a couple of hat emblems you can use.

Tropical Uniform

I've been waiting for something like this for a long time.:Kaleun_Applaud:

Outstanding!

One question though, how can I delete the sawfish cap badge? In the war the badges were made by the crews and very boat specific, so I would like to have just a generic tropical cap.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Replace data\Crew\Helmet\POS\01_POS_Helmet01_D.tga with "SP_Sidecap.tga" file in the Textures folder (rename as "01_POS_Helmet01_D.tga")

Anvar,

No, not yet. I saw this Thread this morning while I'm (looks over both shoulders) at work.

Soon as I get home I will give it a go. If the mod out of the box has generic tropical caps, I'm in like Flynn.

I included a generic no emblem cap for those who do not want a emblem on the cap or wanted add their.

If you have a problem with Anvar1061 instructions I will get a generic cap for you.

Anvar,

Not sure I understand the concept of "changing" something and then "replacing" it.

Don't overcomplicate. Look at these two files in a photo editor and you will understand everything yourself.

Anvar1061,

Thanks for the instructions for switching the files to get a generic cap.:Kaleun_Thumbs_Up:

This is what the Helmet/POS file should look like following Anar1061 instructions. The .dat file will utilize this to generate a generic cap.

If you have trouble with ANVAR1061 instructions, here is a link for the Helmet file providing a generic cap.

https://www.mediafire.com/file/299pj...Helmet.7z/file

Hope this helps.
