Have the same in Black Shark, guess it's because everyone's bunched up and
so there's plenty of detail in small area. :hmmm:

YOUUUU SONOFABITCH! :damn:

At least it wasn't your wingman... seriously. :shifty:

I do wonder how my next career will end... NOT. :shifty:

So, I thought I'd give myself a new paint job. Not convincing camouflage against the sky...

Much better from above. But still too visible :hmmm:

I know, let's get rid of a wing! Or three. Better, but for some reason the aerodynamics were thrown! :nope:

Very nice

Here's a pro-tip: Don't you ever, ever try a steep dive in a N.17 :dead:

Or the Albatros, as pictured above

Just read this on the RoF site -
Quote:

However, there was still no confidence in low wing attachment and pilots refused to perform steep dives in combat.
Now I know, I'll not be doing it (much) again! :smug:

And this for your N.17
Quote:

These so called "one-and-half-wings" designs, like the N17, had an obvious design defect. Because the lower wings only contained one spar, the lower wing tended to fold and break off during high speed dives and maneuvers. There are only two known occasions when pilots made successful landings after losing their lower wings. Similar German designs suffered from this same problem.

Biggles 09-15-11 07:08 AM

Hm, my experience shows that the Albie can take more than the N17. I don't fly with full realism ofc, but I fly with realistic physics so...:hmmm:

Raptor1 09-15-11 07:22 AM

The Albatros D.III is notorious for its weak lower wing that tended to fail in dives. The D.V attempted to correct that but it wasn't particularly successful...

Dowly 09-15-11 07:42 AM

I've dived a few times at around 250km/h in the AlbieD.Va. Seems to handle it
just fine as long as you don't yank the stick when pulling out of it. :yep:

You realise that info is right in the game under "reference" in the main menu, right? ;)

Pah! Who reads that? :hmmm:

Just get in and fly, quickly! And don't pull too hard out of a dive. :D

Biggles 09-15-11 12:51 PM

My experience of the DVa is that it can handle pretty much anything you try with it, (again, not flying full realism) as long as it isn't damaged in any way. If you have structural damage in a wing, then get out of there! Now!

Dowly 09-15-11 06:24 PM

This bastid had all the chance in world to end my career, but fortunately he
overshot me. So, I ended his. :arrgh!:

I've finally found out how to aim in RoF. Use your track IR to align the gunsights (or to get you into a position that allows you to aim) and press F10. That will save that position as your "centre view". Whenever you reset your view you will return to that position. Finally I can use the Spad and have a more elevated seating position in the Albatros.:salute:
