Are you traveling alone Camaero? If so I could help out with gas ... if you don't mind that is.

Still aways off ... keep me in mind. I can make it to the grapevine in one day. I was going to visit someone in
San Diego around that same time anyway and then make up my mind.

I hitch hiked that same route back in the mid 60's, but now days they rob you for gas money ... :o

We should figure out who wants to stay where. It will make it easier on our "shuttlebus service":D . We could sleep in a tent on Neal's lawn, but the fire ants???:gulp:

Would anybody want to do the roommate thing and split the cost?

Dargo 02-07-08 10:06 AM

Roommates? Split costs?

Of course, as long as you don't mind my snoring.

Well I might be able to go as well. I got a few things going on prior too (Like getting out of the navy and getting a job!!) But I may be able to convince my wife to let me take a long weekend in the great state of Texas. I will also try to get some swag from my soon to be ustaboat (USS Texas SSN 775) and if there is anything anyone wants lemme know.

Looking forward to trading sea stories and such....

Aww man, I'm really hoping I can get to this one. Just meeting everyone who's going will take a couple of days. :D

I dread to see the photos should me and jimbuna end up chatting :rotfl:

Perhaps we could all munster on the deck of that landlocked fram II diesel submarine just like a real crew at parade rest for a picture extrondaire.

Neal as CO and Bill Nichols as XO leaves room for one chief of the boat.

In order to be a real experience you will never forget I recomend that the men staying on the submarine overnight learn how to fart, belch, cough, watch a movie and then stay up all night playing poker.

Just like on a real boat ...

That is a distinct possibility for me. I'm only a few hundred miles away from Houston/Galveston. I've seen both the Cavalla and the Texas and the DE that's "anchored" next to Cavalla. I have a huge amount of photos from all three. The sub is really interesting. Very different from U505 in Chicago.

How about a head count?
Coming---Me

Probable--

Still thinking about it--
