Get rid of the 10.5 cm gun?

Hello Kaleuns,

does anybody know how I can get rid of the 10.5 cm deck gun?
The majority of the real IX D2 U-boats didn´t have one, and as I´m very much into realism in the game rather than sinking the odd freighter by using the pistol, I would like to see mine to be removed from the deck!

Besten Dank!

Are you running a "stock install" of SH4 1.5 ?

Hi Lurker,
it´s a stock SH 4 1.5 plus the newest version of OP Monsun.
Can the deck gun also be removed from the IX C 40?

Cheers, Arnd

If it was stock only I would have done a fix for you, but I won't make changes like this for OM. All my historical references show that the IX C40 / D2 keep their deck guns, unlike the Type VII's that had them removed June 43.

But if you want to do it yourself, all I'm going to tell you is that it within the subs .upcge file.

Hi Lurker,

first of all, thanks for your quick response!
I tried to modify the .upcge file, but without success!
Which part has to be changed or deleted to remove the deck gun?
The deck guns of the "late" IX C40/ IX D2 had mostly been removed (1944, 1945).
Here are some shots from uboatarchive.net with boats that surrendered, they all have a heavy Flak armament, but don´t carry the deck gun.

Have a great weekend!

Arnd

That should work.
