Im having more fun than the law allows

This game is phenomenal.

viewing through the lens of a work in progress of course but this thing has GOBS of potential.

it delivers on so many things the SH series omitted.

One of my favorites is to manually attack a convoy, and when the escorts start their attack, diving to evade them in first person view with the blue light on while the crew carries on about their duties.

Or worse, springing a leak aboard the boat during a depth charging and sinking to the bottom and having to prioritize resources and tasks to correct the damage and bring the boat back to the surface.

Its a unique thing walking through the boat in knee deep water while the crew carries buckets to the bilge and finally the water is removed and you can blow the tanks and rise to the surface. that is such a gratifying feeling.

cant wait to see where this thing is in a year

It truly is a fun game, despite not being finished. Gives you a unique experience. What is really enjoyable is the thrill of 1st person while experiencing the highly intense moments

but...but ...the secret of surviving the career-mode subsim games is to avoid 'highly intense moments'...:hmmm:

True, however that doesn't mean they are always avoidable. And convoy attacks are thrilling and enjoyable and can be intense at times

Well...did you ever enjoy getting hit by depth charges in the SH series? Here I actually do. Sure, I try to avoid it at all cost, but dang...it is FUN to get hit. xD Seal that section off, send the medic over to the wounded officer first, he is more important, get the pump going, weld that leak first, try to hold the depth and don't. Get. Too. Far. Down.

This game can tell an amazingly exciting story.

talking about fun moments,

I laughed out a lot when emergency submerging because i spotted too late a escort running to ram my uboat, when barely made it underwater the escort rammed the upper side of the uboat's hull and... break and split open its front side of the escort, inmediately sinking herself!

Of course this has been an exaggerated reaction of the physics engine, BUT actually in real life many ship captains were advised to NOT ram uboats because their skin whas so tough that chances were that the ship would become damaged beyond repair and the uboat scape barely scratched.

I thought, well.... here's something to try when i run out of torpedoes... :hmmm:

I really couldn't agree more. I just hope for an eventual fleet boat expansion.

I just hope someone will eventually mod in a nuclear sub...SSBN!
