Several Problems with Silent Hunter 4
 

Whenever I try and launch the game, it says that I am missing incredible amounts of files, and it won't start up. I don't know why it won't start up, and I don't know what I'm doing. Can someone please help me? It says:

File not found: data/menu/data/black80.tga
There is a new (not implemented) page: <PageChooseLoadSave> !
File not found: data/menu/skins/american/gui/intelligenceunits/paper.dds
File not found: data/menu/skins/american/gui/layout/radio_messages.dds
File not found: data/menu/gui/tdc/tdc_metric.tga

And SOOO many more. Please help me. I purchased the game on Steam, if that helps.
Edit: Am currently uninstalling and reinstalling to see if it solves the issue.

1. Do NOT install Steam, in C:\Program files OR C:\Program files (x86). That also goes for any game launchers or their associated games libraries, much less games at all... especially IF you intend to mod them.

With the issue with ''File not found: data/menu/data/black80.tga'', let Me guess... Trying to mod SH4 with either ''Operation Monsun: Dark Waters'' or ''Fall of the Rising Sun: Ultimate English version''...

Ok, With Steam, they have on their store, 2 complete, separate versions of Silent Hunter 4.

1 of these is SH4 v 1.5, which is stock straight up skippering U.S. Fleetboats. There are still a couple of mega mods, that use this version... but not many, if at all... that are supported. Most mods & modders, have moved on to the other version that Steam has on their store.... which leads upto:

SH4 v 1.5 Silent Hunter + Uboat Missions:

Most of the mega mods, state very clearly, that THIS, is the version you need, to run their mod.

With running into all those, ''Error'' code pop ups... it is very clear, the version you grabbed, was indeed...

V 1.4

NOT V 1.5, else, you would NOT be getting that slue full of error pop ups.

It didn't work. Steam and Task Manager say the game is running, but nothing pops up. I've moved the Steam folder location. I've reinstalled Steam. I've reinstalled the game too many times to remember. Nothing works. No popups, no errors. Nothing. Not. A. Single. Thing.
