1600x900

Okay here goes, first of all thanks for putting the time and effort forward into making such a great mod, I got the game working at last on my laptop and have the Grey Wolves 3.0 mod and the Silent Commander 3.2 mods running, I understand there's gui positioning issues but I don't know if it's something I'm doing wrong or what. I put the two files in the shiii folder and set it to my native resolution which is 1600x900, and also activated it my JSGME, however as you warned everything is all over the place. Roughly everything seems to tend to be in the lower left, such as the loading screens. So is it because I'm running in my native resolution or is it something else. Bear with me I'm horrible at trying to get to the point. I'm kinda noobish at modding so I don't really understand how to work the guide for modders. Does anyone else have 1600x900 res and know how to fix it or again am I just screwing up. Oh btw, the 3d portion of the game is perfect with your mod, it's just the 2d items; periscope, nav map etc. Thanks in advance for any help.

You'll need to set the resolution in the ini file to 1360 x 768 (or 1365 x 768) and then deal with getting that to display at your native res.

Ahhh okay, so I was doing it all wrong. One more thing, I kinda got tired of bothering with it so I wanted to temp. disable it and just deal with it, but now once I disabled it, the clickable compass, speed meter and depth meter have just disappeared, any ideas on why or how to return everything back to normal. Again I'm running Grey Wolves and Silent Commander 3.2, if it helps. Thanks (Edit: Fixed This, Just left the mod activated but took out the d3d9 files out of my shiii folder, doubt it's right, but it works)

If only I could slide the ui around I'd be set, can't get it to work in the 1360x768, get the 3d engine crash. I'm tired of messin with it today. All it's doin is giving me a headache.

I've run it on 2 different monitors (nVidia 8600 gts card). On my preferred monitor, with native res of 1920 x 1080, I MUST set the .ini file to be 1365 x 768 (closer to 16:9 than 1360 width), or I get a CTD. Not much of a consolation, but I spent many, many hours getting it to work, so I understand your pain.

For me as I run it from either standard or SH3 Commander I get a windows error. Game work fine without it running though. Any suggestions?

Everything I know has already been posted in this thread. Did you try everything?

All I cannot get 1360 x 768 default rez, best I can get is 1024x 768. I get the same error on all the sizes I try. I have a feeling it might be video drivers as mine are only 3 months old.

What's your OS?

If it is Windows XP SP2/3 you must follow this guide

With nVidia cards you must set NVIDIA internal scaling to avoid this

see my post here:

I set my Nvida controls to what you posted, still get the same 3D engine fail.

@Shandiir

If you don't mind rolling back your Nvidia drivers, use version 191.07. That should cure the "Initialise 3d" error.

Good luck.

Best regards

That's correct, 191.07 was the last driver version which works without the NVIDIA scaling workaround

First of all: many great thanks to the authors for this great MOD. It allowes me to play SH3 (my most favorite of the whole series) again.

I have a little bit of technical question:
I have started modifying the static screens to 1360x768 (and changing the Pos values) but I need to know which ini file handles the loading screens (files in \Data\Menu\Loading like Intro.tga, Map.tga, museum.tga etc)?

Also, it would be absolutely amazing if (and I know that this is HUGE request) you guys could create version compatible with Hitman's Optics. That is my most favorite version of periscope GUI's

Thanks!
