A question about measuring depths in SH4

I want to ask a question on the topic of depths in SH4, maybe someone will respond. The echo sounder, when measuring the depth under the keel, at the same place shows different values with an error of 5 - 10m... I checked it on the KSD 1.14 build... Rechecked on stock SH4 -the same problem... Installed patch 1.4 - the same problem... I put patch 1.5 - the difference in depths sometimes reached up to 20m... Tell me, is this how it should be or can it be fixed? There was no such problem in SH3

Are we sure it is a error?

Ocean floor is rarely flat, even terrain, especially in the pacific, a lot of submerged mountains, volcanoes and what not. So perhaps take one sounding and it is 100 feet and you drift a little next time is 105 ft, it can vary.

If truly in same position getting such depth readings, possible imperfect technology of the era. Possible that thermal layers etc have various effects on it as well, as it is active sonar and active sonar functions differently based on position in the SH 4 world. (Distance from equator seems to be the major factor)

The deeper the bottom surface, the greater the error... I hope this is not a mistake.
