It's easy to get the above screenshots. Just go to the bridge and press Shift and F2 at the same time. You might want to pause time to make manuvering around easier.

I think that's a little gun symbol, part of the binocular view that shows what your crew can shoot at...it was in SH3 as well but I think was modded out long ago.
