That last one is great, Seth! Looks like a painting.

That periscope is bugging me though :)

thanx, mate! i know, i had just surfaced inside a convoy, after checking the scope for nearby escorts.. Me & my trigger-happy crew were so excited about all the beautiful tonnage, that we....hmmm..."forgot"...to lower the scope.. and the result came out like it did... But,I'll try to photoshop it away..
*EDIT* Scope removed, mate! (And yes, it looks much better! Thanx!!)

BTW: If someone is wondering...:

*To get the eerie lightning effect in PS:
-open the picture you want to edit
-duplicate the layer (into "whatever" layer copy or something)
- Go to "FILTER" on the menu
- select "BLUR"
-select "GAUSSIAN BLUR"
-set value to between 5 and 25, according to how much light there is
in your pic. (more light, higher number)
- press "OK"
-select "LAYER/LAYER STYLE/BLENDING OPTIONS"
-select "BLEND MODE"
-select "MULTIPLY"

VOILA!!

(Try to play around with other blending modes, to get different effects!

It's late 1939 and the channel is not a bad place to travel through to get to your hunting grounds off the west coast of Ireland.

Great stuff as always.

Umm, In a bid to save on page loading times can we get back to ensuring that images are in JPEG format & less than 200 kbs? There is no reason for any optimised JPEG to be larger than this and you will loose no quality at all.

This will also save on Neal's bandwidth usage.

Agreed. And dump the .PNG's! They take forever to load on my PC, no matter their size! JPG FTW!!

You know, ever since I saw something similar I have been playing with the idea of photoshopping that thing to orange and hanging a rebel flag on it...

Bo and Luke Duke got drafted....
That would really make it go Yee-Haw! :arrgh!:

oh, and the people driving those things are nuts....

NealT 11-29-07 07:14 PM

Now Seth...that is ONE way to avoid that oncoming torpedo...
