PS4 Slim won't start

My son's PS4 (not connected to internet) says something like it is 'checking storage status... PS4 will strart automatically once this has finished'

The progress bar then gets to 24 and a message comes up: "Cannot start the ps4... ensure dualshock controller is plugged in using the usb cable, then press the PS4 button". But when I do, it does nothing but begin the same routine

I'm wondering if I damaged thr controller by dropping it this morning (trying to get his clothes out of the drawer for school)... it all looks okay and lights up, but I know nothing about any of this and because it keeps saying "plug in the controller" I can only think that it's not being recognised, owing maybe to damage. I've chechecked the usb cable which looks fine

It's okay... I found the answer that it'd "corrupted firmware" and is, it seems, a common problem with this console. This was brand new and lasted for just over a month before packing up... unless we can find the warranty it'll cost £50 to fix

Have you tried feeding it? :hmmm:

That's about $65.00 in the USA.
If you can't find your warranty?
I'd hammer it flat and pay the postage back to where you got it.
:haha:

These 2^ insensitive blighters are no bleeding good to you Mr Squirrel, do yourself a favour and tell the kid the truth, that its died a horrible death and you've got to bury it before it infects everyone.

A funeral on the front lawn followed by a pizza or something will be good for his morale, and when he's asleep you can go and dig it up again and flog it on ebay and make some dosh from it, win win all round me thinks old boy. :D
