Someone has modified the shell.zon file to (dramatically) reduce the rate of fire of the bridge canon ? Indeed, 1 shot every 3 seconds is quite unrealistic.

Firing a deck gun mounted on a U boat deck manned by four men with the movement of the waves and taking into account every grenade has to come from within the ship and given through a small hatch near the deck gun?

I think that one grenade every three seconds is completely unrealistic. There are some good original documentaries about U boats on youtube including an original German one which shows the operation of the deck gun in quite some detail. The short barreled 8.8cm deck gun is not a belt feeder ya know...

Guys, can I borrow one of yours bosuns for a few days? Just checked with a stopwatch and my crew needs over 14 seconds to reload a gun, they're in serious need of good whipping :)

Add promotion points to your gunner in the reload weapons category. That will make ALL weapons reload faster, so also deck gun. You get morale points for each succesful/finished mission. 1 point per patrol/repositioning.

Example: patrol AM2939 1 point, New orders 1, one point, New orders 2, one point. When you have sunk several ships, on return to port, you also receive promotion points.

You can use all these points to upgrade your crew abilities till they are maxed out.
