Just curious--I'm currently playing Onealex, but I want to see how GWX works without it. No matter how many times I try, I can't get Arb Widegui to work with GWX. The Nav Map is unusable. I keep slamming into walls or running aground and killing pedestrians. Is MaGUI compatible with GWX3_Full? If so, the Media Fire page that the link provided on the mod's thread links to doesn't have MaGUI listed.

Any help finding MaGUI would be appreciated.

Maybe this will help. https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/sho...ighlight=magui

Also, regarding the nav map chances are it (maps.cfg) simply needs to be edited for Arb.

Thanks, JP. I've been trying that link for days. I don't see the mod listed there though. None of the files on the Mediafire link seem to have anything to do with MaGUI. Maybe I'm missing something.

It's the Nav map that's my problem. At 1920x1080 it's almost unreadable, and I have a decent computer and pretty good eyes. I have Ahnenerbe WideGui installed now. It works well, but the damned map is almost unreadable. I can't get Arb to work (and I'm not alone). I get a double Nav Map, one superimposed on the other, and I'm a sea-lanes menace running into everything. Frustrating. GWX is a great mod. Maybe the best there is.

Thanks for the reply.

Go to his mediafire page that is linked in the post I linked to. Once there open his Manos GUI(s) folder and everything you need is there.

And, there's the answer.

Thanks, JP.

You better read the entire topic 'Tycho Sh3 Patch' https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/sho...d.php?t=231140, in posts 51 and 52 it says specifically what to do if you have a double map.
For the patch you need the original sh3.exe which must first be patched by H.sie and only then patch it with a patch from Tycho. Tycho does not patch after itself (Tycho patch) already patched file, or H.sie does not patch after Tycho - I don’t remember. That's why the patching workflow is so complex: Original sh3.exe -> H.sie path -> Tycho patch

Realistic Crew Configuration

Gentlemen,

I have for awhile been trying to install a realistic crew configuration for my GWX 3.0 mod. I have installed the GWX 3.0 with the Abnenerbe Wide Gui 1920 x1080 final. I have installed the GWX SH3 Commander CFG Files and GWX3_SH3.2 Files_v 1.2. in SH3 Commander.

The game works fine except the crew configuration only has the rank of Leutnant z. S. for officers, Stabsbootsmann for Petty officers and Mastrosenobergefreiter for Seamen.

I have tried taking the Realistic Crew file from SH3 Commander and adding it as a mod to the games MOD file and the enabling it with the Jones Enabler. No change.

I used to get a good varied crew configuration when I was using the NYGM Hardcore mod but I had a hard time running it with my old 4G memory computer.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to correct this problem?

Tom :k_confused:

Do not post the same question on several threads.

The developers of GWX was very picki about realism in this mod. They have done things what was possible in SH3 by that days.
So why do you think that the Ranks are not realistic?

No, i am not interested of _any_ Realism-discussion here, but probably anyone else is. :nope:

And if we start discussing NYGM-things in a GWX-thread we both may be Keelhouled some day.

Please read:
SH3 Commander v3.2 Documentation "SH3CUG.pdf" last Page 30. "rank bump"
SH3 Commander v3.2 Documentation "Tips.txt" Line 73. "rank bumping"

www.uboatarchive.net has lots of "Interrogation Reports" where Ranks of crewmens can be found.
I have not the feeling that the ranks in SH3 is that far from the History.

For short, i see no problem here.
The game is made to begin with low level, and not with high level ranks. These comes over time if you succeed.

The crew files can be found in SH3-Cfg-directory called crew_config_*.cfg. Try create your own Mod.

Crew Configuration

I'm sorry I offended anyone. I was only trying to find where I had previously been able to get a crew configuration where officers, petty officers and enlisted men had a variety of ranks and variety of previous patrol numbers.

Go to Crew-Barracks just before start Mission and buy what you can. Enough renown of course. They will vary somewhat on every Look into the Barracks, maybe to simulate there availability. The more experience they have, the higher the coast.
