Sorry to pimp my work here but a couple of weeks ago somebody from these forums emailed me and asked if id make them a good quality model of a type23 sub to use in projects outside of sh3.


Since then ive misplaced their email and dont recall their subsim username so cant get in touch.

So if you still need the model could please PM or email me and i`ll send you the file.

Hitman: What would you have to do do convince me, hmmm, buy me a new pc so i can run sh4??? seriously though i cant mod anything for sh4 since i cant run it, so sorry no Narwhal from me antytime soon.

I have no idea just what project the person who requested this had in mind, but the "outside sh3" bit meant i didnt have to deal with poly limits etc, which is why the model ended up as 160000 triangles using 11 seperate textures files, it would need some serious work to convert it into a game-suitable model.

You can produce the 3D model and let others like Keltos or Mykhail convert it to SH4 :up:

Flackmonkey. you have made a beautiful model.:D Too bad you dont have SH4, that game needs some of your models.;) I want more subs than the ones they have now.:D my system could handel it.

The model is to 99% finished it is missing only that, your textures and something fine MADE IN FLAKMONKEY section - .

The SH3 of models has Stidler and Dietrich and I you with the SH4 also saw.

Hipoly convert to Lowpoly ... and with "Melody" or "GPU MeshMapper" to make Normal, Displacement and Ambient Occlusion maps for Lowpoly ...

Just a note from our earlier work on the XXIII, where we converted your original SH3 model into a human-playable version... The "training stripe" should be yellow, not white. This is a product of black-and-white photographs being misinterpreted.

According to a contemporary source on U-2329 "Das Boot trägt die gelben Erkennungsstreifen am Turm ..." We followed this up and could only find mention of yellow stripes, never white. I don't have any colour photographs of a Typ-XXIII, but I do have some of other U-boat types, if you want me to dig them out.

Anyway, it should look something like this...

Oops, i had a feeling that stripe was wrong, i used a beautifully painted 1:72 scale model for texture reference http://hsfeatures.com/features04/uboattypexxiiicw_1.htm since all the shots of the real thing i could find were small and grainy.

Since the person who originaly contacted me to request this still hasn`t shown up i may as well give it away, so anyone who wants it...

The file is in .mb (maya) format, i did convert it to obj but found this was causing geometry errors on the conning tower so scrapped it.

+I should make it clear that this is NOT a mod, its just the 3d model and textures.
