New type of armour invented:

It doubles the ballistic performance and halves the weight... It re-defines really, what steel is capable of.

Great stuff. The idea to somehow deflect the projectiles was haunting me since years.

btw Sky have you noticed that you have a PM from me ?

There was a mail by you from some time before christmas, I think, something about latest developements in your software project, if I remember correctly. I sent you a short confirmation that I got your mail - or have I messed it up? If I left the browser too fast after hitting the "send" button, it might have gotten swallowed in a browser hickup.

Nope, never received anything!

Perforated armour is old news. The Leopard 1 used perforated plates in its applique armour, the Leopard 2 has always used perforated plates for it's main component of armour arrays.

The second part they added as an afterthought - if it is being accurately reported is much more exciting. Stainless steel, retaining ductile properties of a steel armour while attaining hardness levels similar to ceramics... Now that is new.

You can get round it by using a Holy Hand Grenade!

Sky, should you have tried to send a new PM in the mean while then I haven't received anything.

Skybird 01-07-09 05:36 PM

What - another one gone missing? Maybe that is because I did not sent one this time? :D

Did you expect anything special, or am I missing something? The one that I seem to have screwed in Decembre just was a sentence confirming that I got your mail back then. You said that you have a new software stage, and there was a download link i think. You did not ask any questions, if I remember correctly, so I saw no need for a long reply to anything - i would not know to what. I did not check the software, and will wait for a beta once you got one. I did not re-sent that mail today or yesterday, since you now know from this thread that I got your mail back then.

;)

Deamon 01-07-09 05:40 PM

So does that mean you want to test the latest release ?

Skybird 01-07-09 05:56 PM

Daemon,

I did not want to give you a straight and brutal "No", since WWI and Uboats do not interest me enough to dive into the matter before you have a working Beta. When you have a working Beta, i am interested to see what it is all going to be, in graphics and functionality, but not before. Sorry, but my thing is tanks and flight sims (even these are fading for me), WWI submarines is yours. I hoped you would understand that when I said I will check it out once you have a Beta - and that I will check a Beta once you have one is what I mean.

BTW, i really sent you that reply, and must have screwed it somehow, or the technology did. My link to subsim.com sites sometimes is plagued by heavy traffic delays, even today.

Okay now? ;) :)
