Am I able to join lobbies as a Bot Captain? I have just recently bought Wolfpack. Only have played solo as Bot Captain. Will I be welcome in the open lobbies?

There's no indicator of "experience" visible to other players, so there's no reason at all why others won't join your boat. That said, people tend to play with people they know - plus a few newer players - so you may find it tricky to start with. Probably the best solution is to play as crew with a group of chaps for a time, then as they get to know you as a capable player, they'll start crewing for you too, once it becomes obvious you "know your job".

Use of Discord is essential.

Note that captaining a boatful of players is a very different proposition to commanding bots. Bots don't need to be listened to, talked to, encouraged, praised or bollocked, and they don't talk on discord!

But it's a good start, in helping you master the basics.

The other reason to crew extensively before captaining boats of players, is that you'll see numerous different tactics employed, and you can adopt the ones which appeal to you. It's a much broader training than you get simply from playing as 'Bot commander'!

But to answer your question simply: Yes. You can make, or join, a lobby and take command of a multiplayer u-boat. If you make the lobby with bots, then if you don't get a full crew, you can use the bots as required.
