Need your help with some triggers for Replenishment at Sea

G'day everyone,

I was wondering if the 'mission maker' and trigger experts could help me.

The start of my mission I'm working on has you in a Perry, having to form up on the starboard side of a Fleet Oiler, and stay within 230 feet (I've put 0.05NM in the trigger - to allow for the beams of both ships) for one hour.

I've tried to set it up so that triggers will fire at:

0 minutes - notice you're within 230 ft
5 minutes
10 minutes
20 minutes
30 minutes
45 minutes
60 minutes - RAS complete, clear to break away

But the triggers seem to fire at bizarre times, the 'time delays' between triggers aren't kept and some triggers will fire together.

The 60 minute trigger is set for a 1:00:00 duration on page 2 of the trigger, but it consistently fires at 1:00 pm!

I've spent days on this - tried 'Completed Trigger', 'Time since Trigger Fired', 'Duration', and various combinations of the 'second page' of the trigger (time parameters) but can't seem to get it to work.

Also if you have ideas on how to set up a 'failure' trigger - i.e., if ownship drifts outside 0.05NM during the evolution (but not after), I would appreciate it too. 'First Failed Criteria' didn't seem to work.

It's part of a 'bigger' mission - but the UNREP is hardest thing to plan out and get to work!

Really appreciate it if you could help, guys ;)

Well, as soon as I ask for help, I get it to work. :ping:

It works if you use an 'attached' trigger, instead of a 'global' trigger; the attached trigger to the oiler, using the 'approach' setting and a different 'duration' for each phase of the UNREP.

I've deleted the file I uploaded, and will keep working on the full mission.

PART 3

I still need to work out the 'failure' trigger - for when the distance between the two ships exceeds 0.05NM during the UNREP phases. Still happy to hear your thoughts on that one. ;)

The mission begins with the Mk13 Launcher damaged (the scenario is ownship needs to UNREP a new part from the support ship!)

I need to work out how to work it, so that:

If ownship exceeds 0.05 NM to the Oiler, before 60 minutes, the 60 minute goal with included 'Repair Mk13 Launcher' script is removed (no reward, and you have to do the mission without a Mk 13)

If ownship stays within 0.05 NM with the Oiler, for 60 minutes, the UNREP Failure Penalty Trigger (-1000 points) is removed - so that when the ship legitimately breaks away, the penalty won't trigger...

It seems easier to 'create' Triggers (in a dynamic group) and 'run' scripts - than it is to 'remove' triggers or 'stop' a script from running...

Thanks guys,
Stew

I think I cracked it, fellas - had to think the problem out.

I took advantage of the 'not' condition to make it work.

For the 'Replenishment Failed' Trigger, I have:

Completed Trigger - within 0.05 for 10 mins OR
Completed Trigger - within 0.05 for 20 mins OR
Completed Trigger - within 0.05 for 30 mins OR
Completed Trigger - within 0.05 for 45 mins AND
NOT Completed Trigger - within 0.05 for 60 mins AND
Range FFG to AOT >0.05NM THEN
Trigger Fired

For the 'Replenishment Success' Trigger, I have :

Within 'Approach' 0.05 NM for 60 mins (and on the next doctrine page)
NOT Completed Trigger - 'Replenishment Failed' Trigger THEN
Trigger Fired

Both seem to work with testing. Hopefully, also, that should prevent ownship being able to 'come around again' for another hour, to try and satisfy the 'Replenishment Success' Trigger - it shouldn't fire because the 'Replenishment Failed' Trigger has already fired. (and you'll have to do the mission without a Mk13 Launcher)

Thanks for being a sounding board, at least this info will be here (hopefully) forever!:ping:

Cheers,
Stew

Just FYI, I believe a trigger duration of 1:00:00 is for 1 day, I think the format is DD:HH:MM for the times listed in triggers.
