New tactic.

You can change the tactic at the (any) last waypoint from a choosen tactic. Let's say the ship is on transit, at the last waypoint you want to change the tactic to ladderbox.
Problem is is doesn't work, the ship will stop at the last original waypoint?
Any of you have other experiences?

I've had the same problem, trying to assign a tactic to a helo at it's last waypoint. The helo goes to the waypoint and hovers in place.

mike_espo 07-19-05 08:38 AM

Yep. Don't work. I tried deleting the field where it gives a duration of the tactic. Best I got was about 6 minutes of the different tactic, even though I put 99:99:99 in the duration field.

I don't think transiting waypoints work either

Kapitain,
Can you please make a map with one platform and your solution on my question.
To be precise, change the tactic at the last waypoint, and make it work.
You have my mail adress via PM.

Kapitan 08-17-05 04:27 PM

let me see

you wish me to send you screen shots of a AI unit at start of tactic then again when it follows at end of tactic

am i right if not then explain like this

Fish 08-18-05 07:46 AM

No, after I gave a platform a tactic, say transit, I want to give it a other tactic, ladder box for example, at the last waypoint. Now comes the problem, it doesn't work.
You, however gave me the impression that you found a solution to the problem.
Thats why I asked you to make a scenario with one platform, gave it a tactic and another at the last waypoint.
So, I can see how you did it.
But I think you didn't understand the question. Both not being native english.

Kapitan 08-18-05 07:48 AM

i understand now i do exactly the same as you at the end tactic bit i put new tactic in say another transit and it does work so i not know of this problem

Bellman 08-18-05 07:56 AM

:) Well as I have my 'Learner ' plates on this is an important point that Fish raises.

Kapitain I am not sure that I fully understand what Fish is asking you for but what I want to see from you are dumps
confirming your statement that you have had no problem with this issue.

The dumps should be :-
1. From the Nav map in Mission Editor showing the final waypoints changed tactic
2. Ditto but the next to final waypoint.
3. From in-game of the same scenario showing the platform performing the final waypoint task.
4. Ditto for the next to last waypoint.

Fish has a much experience in these matters and I think you owe him the respect to support and demonstrate your statement that
for you it ' works fine no problems what so ever.'

If I have misinterpreted Fishs intentions I hope he will correct me.

Kapitan 08-18-05 08:01 AM

i have not disrespect fish in fact i disrespect no one unless they disrespect me

secondly i think now i know what he asks but my screen shots are very small for a reason i dont know
plus i have to have my laptop do it so it take time

Bellman 08-18-05 09:04 AM

:) OK Kapitain.
