WW2 The Big One

This is a very detailed set of WW2 rules. It is not a game to join.

There are three levels to the game concept. On the Strategic level, national leaders deal with diplomacy, intelligence, production, research, and planning the war.

The Operational level is where the plans become movement of land, sea, and air units. OP commanders issue the movement orders and when that movement results in contact with the enemy, it is the Tactical level command who fight the battles.

NO dice are used and no random number generating schemes. Results are based on conditions, strength of forces, and decisions.

The rules are a free download. As of Dec 2013 there have been 2516 downloads.

This year I am adapting the concepts to 1650-1850 era, with Black Powder & Steel rules.

Game is now under way

Dated message: Unable to edit the heading...
In 2009-10 I ran the game as a play by email monster. It proved too difficult to find players willing to 'stick to it' as the number of players grew to over 50. I no longer run a pbem but still offer the rules.

Is the game unique? Yes.

This is the most detailed, comprehensive treatment of the war that any game has ever presented.

There is also a combat system that is truly unique. It is one that could be applied to any war game that currently uses dice to determine outcomes. We do not use dice.

The rules were re-written to take out the need for a game master. Instead, I outline how to use the game concepts to link existing board and/or miniature play into a 'big picture' massive war game. It is possible to play a game using just my rules set in a solitaire mode or including players or even groups of players.

There is a forum for discussion and perhaps recruiting players to your games.

Having said all that, there is still depth to the game. This is my imaginarium.

I would've joined, but at the moment I cannot. If you would need any more players around August, I could probably join then...

Welcome

My rules are currently being used in Civil War play with good results. Several people have contacted me to let me know how they have used all or some of the rules or concepts in playing such games as World in Flames.

I look forward to hearing from people who are, or want to, implement my concepts.
