For some reason you have a bunch of screens where that happens - reminds me of the gory scene in "The Cruel Sea". :doh:

That's precisely why I choose them. I generally use my latest victim as a route of escape but the escorts AI doesn't recognise anything other than my boats sound signature.

Having said that, sinking a lead ship in a column often means the following vessel does the same, only recognising any vessel directly in its path.
