Newbie saying hello.

Hi all, im new to the forum, it looks great. Im off work at the moment and decided to buy a sub sim and ended up getting SH2. I used to play the Silent Service games years ago on my old Amiga and loved them.

If i enjoy SH2 i`ll no doubt invest in SH3. Ive read of people having issues running SH2 on xp, which is what i have, and hope my copy will run ok. Should be here this week.

The forum looks great and im looking forward to becoming a hermit of the nautical type again.

You have picked a true classic; it will give you some headaches but above all many hours of entertainment, and for sure you will love SH3 no matter if you have previously loved SH2 or not. You will notice the interest has shifted mainly to SH3/4, but many old hands are still around here ready to help any newcomers.

I'd like to invite you to join the Atlantik Kampaign II - a single-player campaign using historically-based monthly missions. We've been running since Sept of 2003 and are on our second round of WW2. Currently, we are awaiting orders for war patrol 13, to be issued on 01 April. The timeline for this mission will be Nov 1941, just before Drumbeat. Players have until the 20th of the month to send their patrol reports to their flotilla commander. You don't have to play every mission, but you do have to respond to each so your FC knows sho is/ is not playing that month.

We also run a second monthly campaign (for those players who want and have time for 2 missions per month) in the Mediterranean theater for experienced commanders who have completed two war patrols in Atlantik II. The very first MED mission starts 01 April.:yep:
