Strange? But I will put it back in there. Thanks

I've just tried to turn on and off that setting and in both cases my sub had the old original rusty skin...

Here's preview of my Balao skin folder (X:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 4 Wolves of the Pacific\Data\Submarine\NSS_Balao)

Any other ideas?

(as said, renaming the new skin files to *_lr.* worked, but that's not a "JGSME compatible", is it?)

Somehow.. somewhere you're game uses low-res skins.
I don't know how :hmm:

If you unpack the rar file.. And change the name of the dds skin files.
And then put it in the mods map of JGSME.. then it is compatible.

But it still a route around the the problem.. somewhere you're game is using low-res textures.

At the same moment, did any of you seen a Balao skin that would look like this one:

I don't care if it's historical correct or not, I just want it :smug:

Any ideas? :)

Not in hi-res, only with original SHIV textures

If you ask captain cox nicely, maybe he wants to do a hi-res version.
He can use my skin.. no problem.

MaxT.dk 05-18-07 09:30 AM

Screws

Just out of curiosity.... would getting the screws to turn the right way be a "skins" thing or a "change the code" type thing?

JD

MaxT.dk 05-18-07 05:12 PM

What screws? post a screenshot.
But if I'm not mistaken, there aren't any screws in the skin files...

CaptainCox 05-18-07 05:29 PM

The right way?...what is the right way (I am truly interested as i like "historically correct stuff" And it would not be in the skins like MaxT.dk said...that would be some animation file...down the long line of animation files....ZZZzzz off to bed anyhow ;).

jdkbph 05-18-07 07:45 PM

Screws

Sorry, I assumed this was previously reported. It's no big deal really... it's just that the screws turn in the wrong direction. They turn in reverse when the boat is going forward. A screen shot wouldn't help... you have to actually watch them rotate.

I just thought if the screws were depicted as a texture on a disk or something, the texture might easily be reversed. But like I said... lest anyone get the impression I'm being seriously anal :-? ... it's no big deal.

JD

Well the screws are textured of course, and they're on the sub texture file. But the actual screw is a rotating 3D object, which hasn't got a thing to do with what colour it is.
