**Mod Release** Depth Charge Shake v1.0

**UPDATED VERSION RELEASED AGAIN!!** Depth Charge Shake v1.03 (for use with GWX)

Hello fellow SH3 players. Has it ever bothered you that when you are are being depth charged or bombed in SH3, the close falling charges or bombs never seem to shake your u-boat? Well, it has always bothered me. That gentle rocking back and forth when being blasted with depth charges just doesn't convince me of the immense danger outside of my iron tube. This mod was released to deal with that missing feature. With Depth Charge Shake v1.03, your u-boat will shake from nearby exploding depth charges... I mean REALLY shake. ;) If the charge or bomb explodes fairly close to your u-boat, it will shake violently. This does not automatically mean that your u-boat is taking damage, but there is a good chance that it is. Farther away depth charges may only slightly shake the u-boat or not at all. I feel this mod realistically models nearby explosion shock waves striking the u-boat and extreme compartment vibrations/ shaking .

Hopefully now you will feel like your u-boat is taking damage, and the big question... "How much longer can she hold together?". I hope Depth Charge Shake v1.03 will immerse you even more into SH3. Turn up your speaker volume and hold onto something tight!

I was gonna wait and release this feature with LRT v1.32, but I decided to go ahead and do this as a separate release mod. :arrgh!:

**Should be compatible with most other SH3 mods**

K you got me interested, but that bit of info up there ^^ worries me lol..

I take it you have not tested your mod with the both major supermods. ?

Maybe list the files it changes here in your post ? that way people can decide if they want to bother downloading it as they can see what files it will alter first, and act accordingly regarding the stuff they already have modded file wise..

cheers though, I hope this does work with gwx :P

big shakes and stuff is needed...

Sounds good!!

If it adds to the immersion then even better!

Just a couple of questions - does it change the actual sound of the depth-charge? I recently added a new one that was posted a few days ago and this would work well with it.

And (I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering this) - does it work with GWX??

Finally (OK, three questions) - does it impact of FPS at all - given the shaking screen etc? FPS hasn't been an issue with my system, but again others may be concerned.

I'll certainly be giving it a try though (when I finally get away from the office :damn:)

Cheers!!

I hope it doesn't crack my spine.

Will each uboat shake differently? or is it a global value?

Hi,

Very cool:up: but I think it's shake too violently and I don't like the side effects. Is it possible to get ride of the side effects?

I must be a masochist. I did the same thing, just went about it in a different way. I increased the explosion range to 50 on depth charges. Doesnt seem to do more in the way of damage (perhaps flooding, unsure,) but the closer the depth charge is, the more it tosses the boat around like a rag doll.

Im curious, what did you adjust in the camera file to get a similar effect?

Looks really good! I can't wait to get home from work and try it out. Quick question though: do I need to be in port to install the mod?
