To bring them up to what level? What flight sim has better ground textures? Sure they could be better but they are a hell of a lot better then IL-2 (as you would expect being a newer title).

@Biggles - Nice shots! I assume you are on the ROF boards as well.. what is your handle over there? I am Bleddyn, the annoying forum moderator.

To the level one should expect them to be in a game released in 2009. If that's how they look on higher settings too, they are more of an step back than forwards. I also dont agree that they are 'hell of a lot better' than IL2's, they are pretty much the same. Blurry mess.

Highbury 10-30-09 06:52 AM

Well if you think IL-2 and RoF ground textures look the same, or even similar then we have a huge difference of opinion, but that's ok

I think the RoF ground serves it's purpose more then adequately, and I have yet to see better in a flight sim... now if they would just re-work the "zippers" they call trenches I would be fully happy with it.

Fincuan 10-30-09 07:04 AM

I agree, the planes look amazing but the ground textures... uhh. IL2 actually has better ones should you choose one of the user-made texture mods. I'll try to find some shots to illustrate this.

The ground looks good enough for me. I try not too get to close to it anyway:D

Fincuan 10-30-09 07:21 AM

Here we go, IL2 with the texture mod I talked about. Not my shots.

One thing that cannot be denied though, is that the physics in ROF beats IL-2 or any other game that I know of by a long shot. I'll try and find a picture of two planes colliding, it's such a wonderful sight in this game!

Hey, fin... can I gets a link to that thread.(pm) been looking for a ground mod.

Fincuan 10-30-09 01:03 PM

It's Flushy's Bumpification Texture Mod, available in "WIP - Beta mods" in the place that shall not be mentioned.

Task Force 10-30-09 01:14 PM

Oah yes, I have his airfeild texture set! thanks!

Schroeder 10-30-09 03:51 PM

Let me guess a 256mb card can't handle it, right?:dead:

Fincuan 10-30-09 05:50 PM

It can, no probs. I've got a 256 mb card myself.

Its a weird plane to fly in IL-2 as Hunter can tell you.

Schroeder 11-01-09 02:35 PM

Yep, totally screwed up. If you use the right engine alone and throttle up the plane will turn....right.:o....and vice versa. There were some other things but I can't remember them. I only flew this thing ones and like all other former AI only aircraft left it behind.

Task Force 11-04-09 03:08 PM

Im prepareing this post for the upload of the Lolwaffe Space programs newest discovery! Pics taken from the LOLrocket...:yeah:(Got to change size/type first!)

XabbaRus 11-04-09 04:35 PM

Yep that's why I haven't installed you know what.

I want to come back to flying on line but I'm in two minds about the you know what now....
