I Need To Build A New Computer...

Well, I need to build a new computer. It needs to be able to run Microsoft Flight Simulator X at a minimum of 20 frames per second with good graphics over and in major city. I also need to do it as cheaply as possible...

Can anyone here help me out as far as coming up with a build sheet?

Go lose your weight first. You may not need the new computer. :haha:

How cheap is as cheaply as possible? FSX is processor intensive so you should get the best you can afford, but you can't scrimp on the RAM, PSU, Mobo, or your graphics card - they all work together :D

I'd save your money for a bit longer.

PS What do you have now?

I went with a 3.2ghz Black edition AMD Phenom X2 quad core, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 superclocked with the option to add a second, a 1 gigawatt PSU, and 8 gigs of DDR3 1600 RAM

Not so cheap then! :D

You should see a decent framerate in fsx with that lot. I have a core2duo 2.93, 4 Gb PC6400 and a GTS250 - I can get easy over 30fps, depending on location and aircraft over 50.

Plus you should be able to reasonably run MS Flight, if it ever comes out :hmmm:

Edit: oops

But if I ever want to go MASSIVE on upgrades I won't need a PSU. And I got it for 80 bucks.

1 GW (Gigawatt) = 1.000.000.000 W. So we now know where to get rid of our old nuclear power plants... Where are we to send them ? :D

$80? What brand? From experience and a lot of research, a 1 GW PSU well-known, reliable and trusted brand name is gonna cost you a hell of a lot more than $80.
I don't want to be negative but sounds too cheap to me.
