Imperial W@ters

Imperial W@ters was born today

this will be made as single mission,s only Plug In Mini mod that runs off my Epic waters base mod

this is based around World War I era vessels

in different global areas so the mission locations will vary ect :

mediterranean sea

Atlantic ocean

ect

The Game mechanics will be dead easy as you haven't got any :

missiles

radar

so you use your Primary & Secondary Guns and also unguided torpedo's to fight

the signature panel wil be replaced with the identification book like in my other 2 old era mods

Pacific W@ters & Atlantic W@ters

so to identify a target you can let the crew auto identify it that takes time

or look at your identification book then press enter on the one you think it is

or be lazy and just mark it to auto id it straight off

you have got sonar but like in my other 2 ww era mods

its much slower at generating a contact ID so visual identification is preferred for fast Designation of targets

torpedo's have the marker for placement like Mark 16,s

so CCIP like in aircraft huds

"Constantly computed impact point"

ill add ww1 subs when i can find more time to make em

ive been looking at designs to make

or ill adapt some of my current models from my library,s ive been building up for my other various projects

WHY ?

This a Mod im making for a old friend who is very Ill who loves old era navy combat

but hasent liked any of the existing games hes got or thinks they don,t deliver what he wants for multi platform WWI vessels combat

in a game that is faster and more simpler to play on or off but with good graphics

and that wont have a steep learning curve

or need a mega computer to run it

Quite a lot of the game mechanics and huds can be lifted & modified from some of my other existing mods so this will come together at a fast rate

hence this mod was born today

so ...

“Fear God and Dread Nought”

progress

k so as submarines and ships don,t have radar or Esm Or active sonar so i have had to Re designed em a bit

both visually & hud wise

so periscope or ships optical sight are ok just need a new look

ESM Is now Radio so a radio mast is deployed on subs they actually have all ways rigged ones like surface ships but i needed to put something in the esm Space

So this will build up data on the targets when deployed surface only deployment

Radar

is now Watch Crew this is surface only deployment and will act like radar in essence with a modded range that fits visual detection range of lookouts

the watch crew will pop up just like the radar mast use to when you deploy em

Active sonar is now a audio Man Battle stations button like in my other WW era mods bar a few exceptions like vessels with :

ASDIC (Sonar):

During the First World War, Allied scientists addressed the problem of submarine detection in the hope of finding something more effective than hydrophones. The result of their investigation was called Asdic by the British and Sonar by the Americans. (Asdic is an acronym for Anti SubmarineDetection Investigation Committee; Sonar comes from SOund NAvigation and Ranging.

The simplest form of Asdic combined hydrophones with a sound source. The emitter sent out a sound pulse, which would reflect off the target. The length of time it took for the sound to travel to the target and for the echo to return could be used to calculate the range. This is actually the same principle used by an echo sounder to determine the depth of water.

cheers

thanks

as for the hard drive data loss

dont remind me ....i hate redoing things ive all ready done that took ages

still there has been some good from restarting mainly new models can now be added as this time im basing it off of Epic Mod

which is Far better Organized for modding

very skilled & time consuming work went in to it

also when some one or one,s making some thing and they care it shows

"my modding philosophy is if its not good enough for me then its not good enough for anybody else either"

i remember spending so long making that first gato out of a whiskey model

and same was true for many other vessels FOR BOTH my Original WWII mods

at least now they can be the actual models and not kit bashes ALSO ITS FAR FASTER TO add and mod models in Unity & other software so THANK GOD for that

also all the sound files were lost and some huds

all of the info files ......

it may seem a very large task with

Pacific W@ters

Atlantic W@ters

Imperial W@ters

but luckily

some ww 1 vessels were used in some cases in ww2

&

Pacific & Atlantic W@ters are set in the same time WWII so certain vessels can be simply moved from one to another very easy

also things like ocean mods ect are for all my mods so that,s no problem

all these things mean that progress on one mod in some cases is instant progress for all of em

as for Back ups ive bought a spare 2 tb external drive that gets all coldwaters mod files backed up to it frequently then to a old tower pc every week as a triple Back up ARRANGEMENT

if im being honest hear my main problem is ME i some times get very unmotivated to MOD some days .....

2020 was a very bad year for Me im glad its Gone
