Crash Dive Problem
 
Has anyone else noticed that sometimes you have to click the Crash Dive button twice before the boat actually dives? The first time, it goes through the sound sequence, yet the engines dont go to ahead flank and the boat doesnt dive.

Hmm, doesn't sound right.

But I use Dark Wraith's mod, not stock. If you press the crash dive button with this mod enabled you teleport to the radio room and then, after a defined interval, the boat dives.

Otherwise, if I move to, say the conning tower, and then press "C", the sub will crash dive without problem.

Unless I'm in 15m of water...

Maybe a mod conflict you have?

I've noticed that happen, but never tried to figure out why.

I have noticed the same thing you actually have to hit the crash dive button several times to get it to go down.

I have experienced it too. Darn annoying, gotten me killed once or twice even.

Happened to me last night got jumped by an escort while shadowng a convoy - very interesting process with map updates switched off - I would urge players who want a challenge to adopt this style of play

Any way I got jumped by the escort and pressed crach dive repeatedly - nothing happend - the boat refused to dive or crash dive and so in no time at all my game was over

Not sure what might be causing the issue - though I noticed the excellent new enviro mod clashes with the U-boat Historical Specifications 1.3 mod - in my opinion both are mandetory

were you below decks or topside? If topside then yes, nothing will happen.

I hit crash dive at periscope depth yesterday and my boat surfaced. Is this normal?

Yes your crew wont submerge the boat with you on deck....
Guess they dont want you to drown. :O:

You have alot of conflicting mods!!!!
Check the order in which they are loaded/installed.

I'm not sure about all of them, because i've not used/ tested them all.

But the one highlighted red i know for sure are in the wrong order.

No Damn Bubbles, No Damn Halo Mod Should be before NDB,NDH OM#1 - No Dialog Indicator

And
Environment MOD_2.0 should be before U-boat Historical Specifications 1.3, No Damn Bubbles, No Damn Halo Mod and NDB,NDH OM#1 - No Dialog Indicator.

When you use JSGME to install the mods, it should show the conflicts. Then you need to decide which order to install. The mods you install last will overwrite previous installed mods if they conflict.

I've had the same thing a couple of times. Crash dive and it surfaces. My periscope depth is constantly 14 meters also. This is annoying. I've even removed all mods and get the same thing in campaign mode only. When I do a historical run the periscope depth and crash dive seem to work.

Yes it happens since you are surfaced and not decks awash.. If you are set at depth of 6, and order a crash dive with Navigator dive drills maxed, you should be underwater in under 10 seconds... if navigator is not maxed in abilities, it takes + 30 seconds to go down, and bear in mind that speed setting also influences crash dive since the forward speed means more water through the fore dive plane, means you plunge in more quickly.

try at 6 meters (decks awash) and let me know if you got any success..
