Hi Alex,


I'm not 100% sure, but is this mod actually legal if you don't need an installed SH3 for it and you can just play it without a license key? :hmmm:

Hi. As I know the patching of exe file removes Starforce protection etc. That's why I always tell to everyone that user must have license copy of Silent Hunter 3 to be honest with devs.

Alex you have really out done yourself on this one. This is awesome. June 21 1941 near DT26 sunk 4 ships in a convoy the effects are fantastic. Thank you for your work.

Hey Alex thanks for the great new update. Would it be possible for future updates to additonally provide the updated files only that we can replace so we dont have to download the full folder all the time?

Hi. No. Update process will not change.

I'd just wait and finish your current career/campaign with 1.50 and then update to 1.51 if you don't want to have to restart.

Additional information for all. Please make your saves away from sunk ships (more than 150 km) Yesterday I had a good patrol and all saves after convoy attack were broken. Today I have made a new attack on a single ship and then made a save in a distance of 150-200 km and it was ok. Hope it will help you to avoid loss of tonnage )

Used to be 50km would work; has that changed ?

Alex, in the version 1.51, inside the MODS folder we have 2 separate mods, the "New Water (Arctic)" and the "New Water (Atlantic)".
What is the difference between those 2 mods and the water that comes as default?

New Water (Arctic) it is my environment for North area (Norway). New Water (Atlantic) - it is my environment for Atlantic area and it is different from my default environment. All these mods have different colors of water.

What an excellent mod!

I do have a few small issues.

1. The option to enable event cam is permanently greyed out. No way to enable it at all? Even in Alex’s videos he’s using event cam.

2. When submerged and switching to external camera, the screen is blurry. Like the ‘wet’ effect isn’t washing off. If I move the camera underwater it clears up, but if I move back above the surface it goes back to wet/blurry again.

1 I don't understand what you mean
2 It is periscope vibration. When speed is more than 5 knots. Also this effect is on external camera to avoid cheating

What I am about to say, is NOT, I repeat, NOT to be construed, as to knocking your work here... BUT... you do realize that you are not alone in liking to take screenshots.... I trust.?

Know that some feel that the use of ext. cam's, is in effect.. cheating.. but, it is also a "tool" to get some great snaps of a players/simmer's fantastic action, as well, OneAlex.


A small suggestion... perhaps invest a bit of time to look at making the blurred out, ext. cam view... an optional mod, so that those who "chose" NOT to activate it where the ext. cam is able to be used, may chose to do so... & those that decide to have it available.. may also do so..

Just a.. suggestion.

What I mean is there is a check mark next to “No Event Camera”. This check mark cannot be removed.

**update**

I figured it out, it was disabled in the Graphics Options. Once enabled there, it could be enabled in the Realism Settings.
