Well, you had much better luck than me when I tried that jaunt. Got lost in thick fog over Rotterdam and totaled the 737 on landing :damn:
Great pics, keep posting them :yeah: |
I can imagine; aproaching Dutch coast at 6000ft, I got violent crosswinds. Suddenly had the nose pointing 10 degrees in another direction, or forced up resulting in an unwanted climb. Flew through thunder and lightning over Leeuwarden. Couldn't see the runway untill I broke the low-hanging rainclouds, around 2000ft I think.
Control cleared me to land; "are you kidding?! I can't even see the airport!" |

That's a nice VC CCIP :yep:

Yup, it certainly is. I'm really glad feelthere put in the effort into making this one pretty as well as functional. Great little plane - I own their (older) 737 as well, but even despite my affinity for the 737, I find myself playing the ERJ more and more. It's pretty, retentively modeled, and well... it's a more hands-on plane. No autothrottle! In something like the 737 you just hit the VNAV button and it does most of the work for you. Here you really gotta work the throttles, and that really does make it a fun ride, especially on approach. :DL
Still a really "smart" plane though. *** Couple more! Meeting an airforce KC-135 at cruise level. Triggered a traffic alert, though he was 1000ft above me, so no dodging :) http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p...2006/g01-1.jpg The office: http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p...2006/g02-1.jpg http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p...pb2006/g03.jpg Taxiing in to my base at Charlotte-Douglas airport, E terminal (where most of the little sods like my ERJ are parked): http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p...pb2006/g04.jpg http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p...pb2006/g05.jpg http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p...pb2006/g06.jpg |
Sigh... if only I could be arsed to install FSX and stick drivers... :-?

Great screens Arc & CCIP. :)
Ah, the feelthere ERJ-145. I've had lots of flights in FS9 with that plane. Haven't flown it much in FSX. Have you flown the Wilco E-Jets? ( Embraer 170/190 ) I've been thinking of perhaps getting it some day. --- Doing a series of flights at the moment in a Mooney that started in Iceland, I'm in Tanger, Morocco at the moment, final destination is Cape Town, South Africa. Edit: Had to redo the flight to Tanger, seems I had accidentaly removed the log of that flight. Edit2: After completing the Almeria to Tanger flight a second time, it wasn't logged in the log book... It had become corrupted, it is now fixed and I have to fly the route a third time. :damn: |

From what I understand the E-Jets are fairly similar to the ERJ, except with full VNAV capabilities and a few other extras. I do love the planes themselves, I think out of all the airliners I've been on in real life so far I'd enjoyed my ride on the E-170 the most so far. I think the feelthere E-Jets and v2.0 of the ERJ were released around the same time, so it's probably pretty close in terms of look and feel. CptSimFreak: is that the Eindecker? Did they already release that? :o I've been watching RoF from the side, I think I will be picking up the Iron Cross edition of it eventually. Great looks, and I hear the features came along nicely. |
S France - S Spain (LFMP - LEZL)
Rather uneventfull flight. Just clouds, turbulence and more clouds.
