On the way back to St. Nazaire in Dec. 1940 I spotted this:

Having no idea of the draft I took a gueestimate, and this was the result:

Bounced a little off the bottom. Close, but no ceegar.:-?

My deck gun did a quite nice job though! :D

Here one Brit capitolship that won't see port again. This is my 1st GWX patrol out of Whilhelmshaven Aug 3, 1940. On Aug 13th we met a large enemy convoy heading ENE at 9kts in AM29. After evading a Flower Corvette in the lead, this one was spotted in the convoy's center. After 3 torpedos hitting it, letting it sit for 2 hours and then 2 more torpedos sent to finish it off, it finally goes down. The HMS Rodney at 36,000 tons heads for Davey Jone's Locker. The crew will celebrate tonight. :D
