Had a little foray into FSX for the first time in a while this evening after visiting a few air museums last week has kinda put me in the mood :D (Pics should be up in GT soon :03:)

Spent half an hour or so in BritSim's fantastic Shackleton 3, one superb piece of freeware, especially with the Griffon sounds

Ahh, a Shackleton. I remember seeing them at airshows belonging to 8 Sqn. Contra-rotating props on Griffon engines. Good for displays, not good for the ground crews.

Only one left flying, afaik, in South Africa. :wah:

I know there's one being restored at Coventry airport, but don't know if it's for flying or not. Hope so.

I'm looking at sticking FSX back on soon, looking at replacing HDD first though - I think FSX and my add-ons ran to some 90+ Gigs. :o Didn't have the Shack though.

Yeah after seeing the Shack I downloaded it and gave it a quick test flight in FSX. Its pretty fun though I need to get the griffon sounds. Whats the name of the file there on BritSim for the sounds?

Herr-Berbunch 08-24-12 03:37 AM

Pass! I only found Britsim after your post, yesterday! Some good stuff, definitely need to reinstall FSX.

How did that happen? Doesn't look like combat damage. Did you get too close to your own bombs and got the fabric cover blown away (if that is possible in CoD)?

More likely an issue with a cheap graphics card :D

Its what happens when you shoot up a Welly with mainly AP rounds instead of incendiaries. :D

The He-111 is lighter on its feet than it would lead you to believe, I've nosed the damn thing over at least twice now. But, honestly, you'd expect nothing less from me wouldn't you? :O:
