Oberon 07-18-12 01:17 PM

Let's give Oberon an A-10c, they said, what could possibly go wrong, they said, it's virtually indestructible, they said...

They really don't know me that well, do they? :O:

Raptor1 07-18-12 02:03 PM

Oberon, I am thoroughly disappoint. Look at how much of that A-10 is still intact! It's not even on fire...

It was my first attempt, ok! I'm still a novice at this! Give me time and I ensure you, I will be better next time. :yep:

A-10C's are virtually indestructible. You just used it incorrectly from the looks of that pic. :O::O::O:

Lies, that's a perfectly good use of an aircraft that contains me. :yep:

Progress report, got it off the ground, although Windows for A10 probably wasn't programmed right. Strafed the airbase (as SOP) a few times, then landed. Perfect landing...right up until I couldn't figure out how to apply the airbrakes, and then fell off the end of the runway, off the cliff at the end of the runway, and exploded on the ground below it.

So, progress!

I know exactly how it is to do that. Several times. I hear HunterICX has experience at landing the wrong way. Maybe he could help you out. :O:

Kptlt. Neuerburg 07-18-12 10:44 PM

Oberon, with all your time in the Lolwaffles and that A-10 is still in one piece?! I would of expected it to be in half. So for now all I have to say is:

"Land"* :O:

*Video evidence of HunterICX's not so spectacular landing abilities may or may not be fabricated and may be overestimating his actual capabilities.

Good god...that video is still online ? :o

You kinda got the landing wrong. You are nowhere near upside down or on fire enough.

Give him a chance, it's a new toy - this time next week he'll have it on fire, upside-down and with undercarriage ripped off.

Payday soon. P-51 worth it?

IMHO, $29.99 would've been a more appropriate price tag simply because P-51
doesn't have much to do when it comes to combat in DCS.

But, it's very nice to fly. Handles nicely, not too twitchy or too heavy, just right.
Even managed a smooth Hammerhead on my first try.

Land- To safely land a plane on the runway and park it.

HunterICX's Landing-attempting to land, but crashing in the process.

Technically, yes, you do land. You get the plane on the ground, but it doesnt survive.

landing
[lan-ding] n. - Aaaaaaaahwblghchscreechblachschwhomp boom.

That's what my dictionary says. I think it's pretty accurate... :hmmm:

Spot on definition.

If i actually try, I can do it without the Aaaaaaaahwblghchscreechblachschwhomp boom.

I have landed correctly in the past. Just, not on full realism. I can land easily in the grass somewhere in IL-2. When it comes to runways, it gets serious.

Dammit, I'm going to have to try again in A-10c then, I was using the wrong textbook... :/\\!!

The P-51 take-off demonstration mission seems to have the right one:
The plane goes straight for about 5 seconds, then veers off the runway and crashes. :haha:
