Movie quotes

The shorter the better. Classics even better.

"Sir, I've inspected this boat and I think you ought to know ... that I can't swim."

(Name of the movie. Bonus for actor and character played.) :)

^ The guns of Navarone. I'm thinking the actor was David Niven. The character was named Miller, I think. I don't remember the rank. Anthony Quinn and Gregory Peck starred in the movie as well.

Perfect. Got one? ;)

^ I'm sure you will get it, Arlo. If not else someone will. :)

" Nonsense. I've not yet begun to defile myself." Same as you have previously said , movie, actor and character, for a bonus. :)

Tombstone. Doc Holiday. Val Kilmer.
Just watched that again a day or so ago!
:D

“Would it save you a lot of time if I just gave up and went mad now?”

Commander Wallace 09-07-21 07:56 PM

^ Way to go, Jeff. I knew someone would get it as Val Kilmer was awesome and essentially robbed of an Oscar for his portrayal of Doc Holiday.

Your turn now, Jeff. :yep:

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid - Paul Newman as Butch Cassidy.

Commander Wallace 09-10-21 09:54 AM

^ Good job. I don't think I will be able to stump you on these movie quotes. Paul Newman and Robert Redford had great chemistry in this movie and also the Sting.

Back to you, Arlo.

"I haven't seen Berlin yet, from the ground or from the air, and I plan on doing both before the war is over."

^ I'm thinking that is Steve McQueen in the great escape. I can't remember his character.

Also, in the Quentin Tarrantino movie, " Once upon a time in Hollywood " Leonardo DeCaprio played a scene in that movie in a German WW2 prisoner of war camp where he also said those lines.

I'm wondering if he was reprising that role in the great escape? :hmmm:

Let's see.

" the more they overthink the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain. "

Yes. Capt. Virgil Hilts was his character. I think I know your quote but I'm opting out to give someone else a shot. :)
