Aktungbby 04-10-20 08:20 PM

TEST DEPTH IS 10 FEET ABOVE THE ROAD BED NEAR MARFA TEXAS IN A RIVETTED ALUMINUM '76 FREIGHTLINER: COMPLETLY LETTING IN A HURRICANE'S MASSIVE DELUGE AT 02:00 AS THE AGED RIVETS WERE NO LONGER TIGHT.....THE CABIN INCL. THE SLEEPER OF MY RIG LOOKED LIKE DAS BOOT:oops: CB RADIO, SWITCHES, BEDDING, EVERYTHING TOTALLY SOAKED. FORTUNATELY THE KITTY LITTER CARGO FOR WYNN-DIXIE WAS IN A RENTAL NEW TRAILER AND REMAINED BONED DRY; SO NO LOSS OF INCOME TO DAMAGE. PITY THEY HADN'T INVENTED FLEXSEAL IN THE '70'S....

I'm not seeing that.

Starting to watch the 1998 Belgian Grand Prix now.

Just after the stuff about Mr. Bundy.
The seas weren't that rough, the boat just decided to dive on its own.

On 30 November 1960, the Barbel had been operating off the coast of the Eastern U.S. while participating in training exercise SLAMEX. Following her first dive of the day to test depth (700 feet), she ruptured a 5" line used for cooling equipment which circulated sea water throughout the boat at sea pressure. An emergency blow was performed and on reaching the surface it was found that she had taken on 350 long tons (360 t) of water in the engine room. She entered Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and underwent major repairs of all her piping over 2". At that time, her bow planes were also converted to fairwater planes.

She also rolled 89 degrees (estimated, if she had rolled 90 degrees or more, she wouldn't have come back) but I wasn't there for that one.
