Hi blackswan40,

we got this ship from AG124/Rowi and did not change anything to the original.

Please do not mix GRT (volume) and tons (weight).
Museum says GRT and the Displacement is in tons (not GRT as to read), afaik there is no formula to calculate them vice versa..

The changes you suggest are just cosmetics, though the ship itself still will have a mass of 2325 tons.
Museum gives a length of 78.3m and the cfg-file of 92m. Maybe AG124 kann tell about the different values.

I will not change anything to that ship unless I can have a look at a plan or maybe the Lloyds Register Excerpt of this ship.

So, if the Wikipedia article is correct, the GRT tonnage used in Silent Hunter is just the cargo spaces of the ship. In actuality if the ship tonnage was worked out in more modern GT tonnage, they'd be 3 or 4 times heavier at least. It makes the huge gap between modern and WWII sizes seem a lot closer. quoted from the linked post above.

To which I have to agree...

In original form as is, the NGRA's GRT for it, should at least be 2, 2.5, if not 3 x's what it is listed as in the .cfg file for it.

And, this is not taking into account, is that just the ships dead weight figure... or not accounting for a ship when sunk, of the additional tonnage of the cargo it was carrying.... :hmmm:

That's just my thoughts on it... not to mention if there are not other ship files short on tonnage as they should have...

This is caused by a corruption of the main.cfg file in either the SH3 folder in My Documents or the main.cfg file in SilentHunterIII/data/Cfg. What usually happens is this section is missing in one of them.

Can't take any credit, unless you count passing on info that I gleaned & stored away for a rainy day... then in that case... you're welcome.

I ran into that issue once before, Myself.. & just happened to copy it, as a just in case reminder on what to do.

Guess it was a good thing I did so.. as I had that happen another time, some time afterwards.

Then seeing your issue with it, rang a bell & was able to pull it out of mothballs & dust it off then pass it on. :D

First of all, thank you for all the feedback and the many positive messages!

It was clear to us that there will also be problems.
Especially with the screen resolution under AMD and with the new type of installation.

Fact is that the "Installation Edition 2020" works for 95% of all players worldwide!

This topic here is to help the last 5% where it doesn't work.

The LSH3 Support Team takes every problem reported here very seriously!
However, we always need a few days until we can translate the language and reply here. It's Christmas time! Give us some time to help you.

LSH3-Edition-2020 is never as up to date as your single mod work - I know that.
But you should not talk LSH3 bad, but work together with us on an update 2021!

Only when your work for LSH3 is perfect(!), I will gladly update it in LSH3-Edition-2021. To achieve this we would first have to talk together in person, You, me and BLUEDUCK, by SKYPE! There is no more room for "old" SH3 LaLa land here. Work with us, or don't!

Hello Anvar1061,

playing LSH3-2020 in windowed mode (1024*768) will certainly never meet your expectations, but is enough to want to give other players a bad impression.

Also, what an excellent job to take a tool from another modder (mySH3-TooL from HEB) to trash the work of others.
Here especially the work of excellent shipbuilders who have made SH4/5 models available for SH3, leaving a little something in text files that SilentHunter3 doesn't take into account anyway.

If you with your excellent knowledge had analysed your 850 lines "full of Errors" and ignored all "not in SH3" etc. (because SH3 does not know the parameters and therefore does not evaluate them) you would have found only a few errors, if any.

Surely you have also tested LSH3-2020 consistently and, experienced as you are, you have discovered that the 2DCompartments are no longer used at all in our GUIs.

What you should really learn is constructive cooperation instead of mocking defamation.
