If you choose to install LSH3 MOD you MUST follow the instructions provided. If you experience problems you failed to follow those instructions faithfully. You can contact the LSH3 team if you have questions or problems not addressed in the installation instructions. I found it helpful to print the instructions and go step X step (crossing off the completed steps as I went). |

When you have orders to return to base be careful not to arrive at base too soon. It can mess up the games calendar of events. I am trying to find information that might help you with the unknown icons you mention, my problem is that I am unable to reproduce this effect so far. |
Fubar and Willow:
I think the problem re: the Radio/Sonar icons is as Fubar mentions and I alluded to earlier: That they are linked to not-yet-available equipment which will appear with the type ViiC when it becomes operational and is upgraded. So I'll comfortably ignore them. RE: return to base orders...did not know that one could actually ignore orders from Doenitz or Staff. Especially if those orders are expanded to say that there is a "special mission assigned". Seems counter to the Kriegsmarine standards. In this case, I scooted back as quickly as possible so your note re: returning 'too soon' may be in play...hope have not screwed things up too much. I do not Save before leaving base, but that may be a good idea. I have saved after leaving the exit locks so if I have to re-start I can do so without going through the hassle of the locks all over again. Oh, what is the WolfPack Water Effects Patch doing here? Not relevant to LSH3 is it? If that is true, it may confuse some less experienced users. If it is useful, should there be some message that ii can be installed? Thanks for the replies. Archive1 |

Fubar:
Thanks, but I was at sea around Feb 10 1940 and all it said was along the lines of "U51 DC current patrol and return to base for special mission assignment". Nothing more specific. Not wishing to meet the Geheime Staatspolizei upon docking, I returned! But I'll know better next time. The question remains...if there is a waiting "special mission" etc when one does get to Wil..haven how do you end the patrol? Esc then...Exit, Save/Exit, Return to Base?? and then how is the 'special mission' loaded for execution? Archive1 k_confused: PS -Am about done collating the F1 file in a printable Word file for uploading for others to use. |

You can open the text files with Notepad or any other text editor application. I may have confused you a tad in my initial response but hope now that I have made things a little less muddy. :D You do not have to follow the messages and your persona will not be penalized if you do, but you may find the special patrols to your liking. Willow and Fubar:
You guys are great and an impressive support system for this very large SH3 upgrade. I did not get any of these messages, Fubar, but will download and file for reference. I understand that in a recreation, ie, game, there is no requirement for tight authenticity...especially about penalties for non-compliance with Orders...but that maybe should be made clear in the guidance in the 'handbook' for those starting the game, otherwise, as in my case, confusion results, problems need solving and the support group spends unnecessary time. Oh, and when I did return to W...haven in compliance to the order and was confused as to how to 'close', the program did indeed crash. I was able to begin the patrol again using the previous Save while In Harbor Before Next Patrol (or whatever) and start the patrol/mission over from the beginning...but it was worrisome for a while. I always am concerned for how newbies handle programs. That is especially true if one wants to enlarge the user base, as we all do. Happy Thanksgiving for those for whom it signifies. First,I want to say the LSH3 2020 supermod is very good,it Considering many aspects of things, tonnage is also relatively close to reality.
Second, after I add one splashwater and exhaust fix mod,,,I find the torpedo tube is blank .So could devs make a small fix to LSH3 2020 to make the submarine be with a better splashwater and up floating exhaut and the torpedo tube is filled at the same time ? When I edited the submarine *.val file,,,,when I added some lines like the LSH3 original version, added the torpedo image and torpedo 1-5 to the 3D model file.I find it returned to original exhaust.Could u tell me where is wrong or help to fix it ? |
Hi CNchee I have flagged your post to the LSH3-2020 DEV-TEAM on Skype
|
Hi CNchee which splashwater and exhaust fix mod could you send me a download Link so I can pass it on the LSH-2020 Dev Team

Not sure if it's been posted before.......... been searching and can't find anything.
Been coming across small convoys running pirate/jolly roger flags. Any particular meaning to this? |
d@rk51d3 - Nope, haven't found any such. Do they have a plank to walk too?
All: Have just received a "message" that the Type VIIc is (or will shortly be available) - but this is March 1940 for me in patrol and I believe (may be wrong) that the Type VIIC was not commissioned and at sea until Sept 1940. Can't wait but...? Is there a "clear the decks" order to send the deck gun crew below after action? Yes, one can submerge but just to get the gun crew below? Nah, c'mon. Would also be needed for any flak gun crew after action, but not in an emergency situation. -=Archive1=- |

Think, that just because... you got that, "message" stating that the VII-C is (or will be) shortly available... doesn't mean, right away... will admit to whatever the date is in game, that you got it... is a bit... premature... & would be more... viable & correct, if it was received, say... early, to mid August... (adjusted to a week/week & a 1/2, prior to its release date in r/l...:hmmm:) to be more, accurately reflective of that, in game/sim. But, that's just My own personal opinion & suggestion to the team, to look at for possible reworking of that message... to have it be more... correct. As for a "clear the decks" order... There is... at the deck gun/flak gun icon, is a menu for each gun location... 1st order selection in either, is for the crew to man the deck/flak gun. That same order... also works to tell them to stop manning them, as well. Hope the info, on the deck/flak gun... helps. :shucks: :yep:  :Kaleun_Salute: M. M. |
Or hit F7, then click surface cruise mode icon.

As I recall, that action bar, is seriously... seriously... borked. Don't recall the exact specifics, but... using it, will cause issues. That much, I do recall. I avoid using them, like the plague. :yep: :shucks: Just rely on the orders bar for the different compartments/gun crew orders, to man/unman the deck/flak gun/s... :yep: :Kaleun_Salute: M. M. |
