A few years older but back in Command!

Dear Tankers,
It has been awhile since I was a bit active here, but the longing for tank sims made it inevitable. Tried World of Tanks but almost had a constant premature 'hypertonia' because of all stupidities that goes along in there! Impossible to make out a good strategy with all those freaks. I can tell you, I had a lot of friendly kills on my account :)

Anyway, by chance, I found and downloaded the old 'Panzer Elite' yesterday and I really loved it at first glance. A bit "arcadish" but nevertheless, enjoyable sim/game.
I have seen there is a lot of mods and downloads around, so here is my question:

As I have now 'Panzer Elite-Fields of Glory' and 'Dunes of War'..which mods are most enjoyable and worth downloading?

In WoT , I modified so I had German tank crew voices when driving German tanks..it was very enjoyable too, also the skins were lovely.

I appreciate all tip's in this area.

"Vorwerts!"

Thanks for that! I still play Panzer Elite too (both ways) and will avoid World of Tank on your recommend as hyper anything at my age is just...bad; Where do I find those mods for Panzer elite that you mention? I still play it on my win 98; Will it play on Win 7? TNX in advance :salute:

Not WWII, but cold war era and present. For vehicle overview, see the stickied SBP resources thread up the forum list.

If you want a stable and easy-to-access yet realistic simulation with above average AI, this is the one to check out. It's used by military
customers in a dozen countries, amongst them your home ground, Sweden. Try arcade in it, and die - suddenly, quick, and unknowing.

Feel free to use my verbiage when dealing with prideful subordinates: "Stalin, Hitler, Caesar and Napoleon all died, suddenly? at 55 (or so) and were history's biggest Aßholes! and you have made it to 60+; Logically then, you must be an even greater one that still knows what he is doing and in the the absence of any outright brilliance(of the other teammates) your plan will suffice!" The aforementioned seldom actually confided in their subordinates either!! TNX fer the info and welcome back!:Kaleun_Salute:

WELCOME
BACK

SUBSIM!

This flight simulator called War Thunder is getting controllable tanks soon. Maybe you should try that out.

Have you tried the game Iron Front based on the Arma series from Bohemia Interactive or the I44 mod for Arma2?

Both are excellent games to satisfy the WW2 itch and both games are currently on sale on Steam.
Iron Front 75% off and Arma series 80% off. If you don't have them get them!

Bonjour Skybird, long time no see! :D
Thx for the tip, but it makes me feel a bit guilty, still having my SBP Pro PE2 somewhere in my gun-safe..Didn't have the time then to get into it, very much to learn, but Beautiful indeed.
We'll see what I am going to focus on, right now it is Panzer Elite and WoT with french tanks, until I get bored :)

Will look at SBP 3 soon. Couldn't get my old SBP2 running here on my new comp (64bit), problem with the Sentinel driver I guess?

Anyway, thanks again,
I'll report back to base when done.

Over and out,
:salute:

Gute to see another "horologist" on board; I collect watches and go to watch festivals (Basel) and have a pleasing collection including all the family pocket watches some of which are over 100 years old; Some of my employment involves high-end jewelry security so I see some nice pieces. I also do security at government confiscation auctions so there are bargains. Spent the day at Harrods in London a year or so ago and spent the whole time in the watch department mostly looking at an IWC perpetual calendar that sings to my left wrist but the price was well beyond me with Christmas at hand and a daughter still in college! PM when you've another replica batch for sale, I like old military watches too! Merry Xmas:up:
