As I said in our Comment thread

It's a small step for mankind a giant leap for turisme.

One day in future you will be able to hire a room on a spacestation.

Yes, outside of the political satire the other story arc is the rich boys and their rockets.

What a coincidence that Bezo's rocket looks like a giant prick :D

A blue one at that :yep:

I can't understand the millions of dollars spent for 10 minutes of space travel of just going up and back down in a pilotless fashion.

Who would pay for such a trill ... the county fair midway offers more fun than that :yep:

The difference between rich men and boys is the price of their toys.

I am all for that if it is a try to make space travel normal and in the long run affordable, since this will also support further exploration of the solar system, and maybe beyond.
It is just i think that Bezos and this Branson guy are on an ego trip instead.

Ego? Maybe, maybe not. But if you want to promote space tourism and show how safe your transportation system is. What better way to do that than for the CEO of the business to fly in his own rocket?

I have it on good authority that Bezo's parents weren't happy with both brothers being in the same space vehicle...a violation of the Sullivan Act?! Considering what happened to Kobe and other wealthy executives; not an overly $ensible idea...no imho about it..:hmmm:

I wonder if the space tourism industry can survive their first accident?

Not if, but when

Not if, but when

Only for a short while.

Just think on cruise ship. Years after sinking of Titanic the number of travellers was very low, but then in the 30's it started go up (if I remember correctly)
