Hello!
can you help me please?
I use the following mods: (not necessary in order)
MEP v6 and fixes
SH5 water for SH3
plane and ship fire and smoke damage
moonlight mod
Ahnenerbe Wide Gui with both tweaks by Izgud
TKSS German U-boats compilation
Thomsen Sound Pack
and a few minor mods

I also use Large Address Aware to SH3.exe (I don't use H.sie patch because I didn't want to loose saves from current good campaign)

Without Large Address Aware I always had CTD when loading campaign patrols whenever TKSS or Thomsen SP was installed .

Only training missions were loading fine (Single Missions I didn't check)

Now, with LAA my campaign is loading well and completely. HOWEVER when i go to any of Periscopes or external wiev, the game crashes to desktop.

Please help!

Large addresses aware doesn't work very well with SH3. You should have used the 4 gig patch availabl here here or used SH3-front end to patch the game available here

I would like to retain my saves which could be impossible with hardcode patch.
Why do you think LAA and SH3 doesn't work wery well together? I read the effect should be the same to memory usage as with patch...
Did you test it somehow?

First, of I am not talking about Hsies patch. Hsies patch has the 4gig patch as an option already in it.

Second, LAA does something a little different than the actual 4 gig patch SPECIFICLY DESIGNED FOR SH3 I don't know what because I don't have the source code for either so there is no way for me to compare

Third, you don't need a new career. even with HSIE I have installed in mid game when I first found it and it worked fine.

fourth without seeing what your load order is and without seeing all of your mods we can't isolate the possibility its a mod. Rereading your mod list and where your issue is it really sounds like you have conflicting mods somewhere likely dealing with the environment outside the submarine.

I didn't realize there is a standalone 4 GB patch. I'll give it a try.

Independently, I'll also check if my current sh3.exe file is somehow protected, read-only or not run as administrator, to ensure proper LAA operation. Surely it is installed outside x86 Program Files.

A'propos environmental issues - does TKSS change something in environment? Why would it crash only when i go to Periscope or bridge?
I'll try to disable current environmental mods.

Thanks for the previous help. I will write later what I observed. Maybe someone can use it.

Ok. So i checked everything again and it turned out that after i got rid of M.E.P v6 i got rid of CTD too. Maybe different order of mods could also help and MEPv6 could turn out to work well with TKSSGUC, but I also can play without MEP. LAA works fine for me. Another test will be with Merchant fleet mod which seems to be heavy.

Is better you post really your MOD list in jsgme.. If you don't know like export list...make screenshot.
The installation order is very important!!!!

I am planning to include Merchant Fleet Mod.

When I was having crashes I had:

and a few minor mods

The list above without LAA caused crashes after red bar filled up. With LAA it crashed after going to bridge or periscopes. When I removed MEP and set the proper order everything worked. The only bug is when you go to conning tower and click periscope (instead of just pressing f3 you can go there) - so the view with periscope column, lens and chair is rotated 90 degrees.

Tried, no joy.
And i had it installed at the end of list which caused another problems with menu and cameras files - for example it caused Izgud tweaks for Ahnenerbe Wide Gui inoperable.
What does this mod do, by the way?

In my opinion you shouldn't merge MEP v6 and SH5 Water for SH3, because these are both environmental mods and probably it's conflict between them.
Try use only one, I suggest you MEP - it's a piece of good work.

Dzień dobry, Panie Kapitanie:-)
Próbowałem już wielu kombinacji i niestety w moim przypadku tylko MEP nie współpracował z TKSS, natomiast współpracował z SH5 water ale będę jeszcze próbował umieszczać MEP na końcu i zobaczę.

Now the same in English, as we are both from Poland.
I tried many different combinations and only MEP seemed to conflict with TKSS, while simultaneously MEP worked well with SH5 water, but I will also try to place MEP at the end of list and we will see.

Now as far as TKSS is concerned, I noticed funny bug: when I go to conning tower, click the attack periscope column to enter the place where you see periscope chair, lens and column, (instead of simply press f3 you can go there "manually") this view is rotated 90 degrees. Does anyone see it too?

Sad to see that MEP causes the problem :hmmm:
In my opinion TKSS isn't solid stable in many configs, I always had problems using it. You should find the proper mods soup for you checking all - it's boring, but neccessary.

Suprisingly, finally, MEPv6 started to work yesterday. I removed SH5 water and placed MEP at the end.
